Fire suppression systems for eight stations within the
Washington Metro were leaking and had corrosion buildup.
The pipe systems consist of 300 feet of ductile, black iron
and galvanized pipes ranging from1 1/2to 6in diameter.
Solution:

Situation:
Fire suppression system in a U.S. military bases aircraft
hangar was experiencing pinhole leaks, failing joints and
tuberculation, causingfailures andfalse alarms. More thana
mile of black iron pipes have 420 sprinkler heads.

Fort Drum Army Base: Fire Suppression System Rehabilitation

Lee County Jail: Sanitary Drain System Rehabilitation
Solution:
Digging through the foundation was not an option, because
the facility had to have the sanitary systemoperational and
the jail was at 94%capacity with no roomto move the
inmates. Nu Flows patented Pull-in-Place structural liner
was inserted without destruction or disruption.

The Maryland House of Delegates Lowe Offce Building had
leaking roof drains, which range from3 to 5 in diameter,

not want the buildings structure disturbed during the work.

While the Lowe Offce Building underwent a $9 million renovation,

Maryland House of Delegates Building: Roof Drains and HVAC Rehabilitation
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Situation:
A3cast irondrainline, usedto drainthe elevator shaft from
hydraulic oil and other fuids, was flling with rain water. The
drain line is located 5 feet under concrete.
Solution:
A CCTV investigation revealed that two joints in the pipe
were allowing infltration. Nu Flows Pull-in-Place structural
liner was installed to seal and protect the pipe. The liner
cured overnight and the installation process did not disrupt
the airports operations.

Toronto Pearson International Airport: Elevator Shaft Drain Line Rehabilitation
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Situation:
In 1999, the bases $400 million hospital had just been built.
Unfortunately, when soft water ran through the black iron
potable lines, it pulled iron out fromthe pipes, which made
the water red. The new hospital could not open until this
problemwas solved, so a repair was needed quickly.
Solution:
American Pipe Lining, a Nu Flowcompany, had the perfect
solution for the customer. Our blown-in epoxy coating was
applied via existing access points to the pipes, so there was
no demolition to the newbuilding. Technicians coated about
2 miles of pipes, ranging from3to 8in diameter.

Elmendorf Air Force Base Hospital: Potable Rehabilitation
Location: Albany, Oregon
Situation:
The 60-year-old, three-storycourthouse hadheavilycorroded
potable pipes that ranged from1/2 to 3 in diameter. The
pipes are located under a concrete slab beneath the foors,
and the customer wanted to preserve the building.
Date of Completion: August 2000
Solution:
Nu Flow successfully cleaned and lined the entire potable
systeminside the oldcourthouse, restoringthe pipes backto
their original diameter. Our blown-inepoxycoatingwas installed
without anydemolitionto the building, meaningthere was no

Linn County Courthouse: Potable System Rehabilitation
Location: Toronto, Canada
Situation:
The cafeterias 24-year-old 4" cast iron dishwasher drain
pipe system experienced severe corrosion, leaks and low
fow from heavy scale build-up throughout the years. The
customer was sick of the pipe system failures but did not
want the mess and disruption from a re-pipe.
Solution:
Nu Flows high temperature epoxy accommodated the
140-degrees dishwasher water. Our patented Pull-in-Place
structural liner was installed using existing access points,
which prevented the need to dig up the kitchen. This liner
protects the drain lines from future failures, including leaks.
