IYRS is a world-class experiential learning school dedicated to
teaching highly technical and deeply craft-oriented skills. The

SCHOOL OF COMPOSITES TECHNOLOGY
Immerse yourself for six months with skilled instructors, industry experts,
engineers, makers, builders and craftspeople at the leading edge of
building with advanced materials. Join a growing number of composites
professionals working in a wide range of fieldsfrom manufacturing
surfboards and custom carbon fiber race boats to the automotive,
aerospace, architecture, and industrial design fields. Composites are
rapidly being used in virtually every field of construction today. Learn
career skills that help make you scalablefrom the smallest to larger than
life sized construction.

SCHOOL OF BOATBUILDING & RESTORATION
Spend two academic years learning career skills in building, restoring and
fnishing fne yachts and related joinery work. From mastering the materials
to managing your project, youll work in teams to restore one boat and build
another. Transform yourself and your career opportunities. IYRS graduates
pursue careers both in and outside the marine industry with the skills they
develop in the Boatbuilding & Restoration program.

SCHOOL OF MARINE SYSTEMS
For six months in a team setting with skilled instructors,
learn the theory and technologies associated with
integrated systems. Learn to install and troubleshoot
everything from engines to computer-based electronics.
Whether on land or at sea, IYRS grads have the technical
and problem-solving skill set to successfully navigate the
challenges ahead.

IYRS is your launch pad for a wide range of career paths.
Some graduates travel around the world as race-boat
shore crew; some set up their own business; others go
into education or onto curatorial careers; some head to
jobs with a diverse range of companies working with
many different materials, including laminates, fiberglass
and carbon fiber. The commonality is that IYRS grads
leave each program feeling confident in their abilities
and ready to work in their chosen industry. IYRS student

VISITING IYRS
There are several opportunities to visit IYRS. Take a regularly scheduled tour; come to an
open house; or schedule a mentor visit. Once you decide to apply, the admissions team can
help guide you through a quick and easy application process.
IYRS FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS
Funding your education can feel like a complicated process at times. We have a Student
Services Team here to help guide you through it and explore the best options for you. Our
ACCSC accreditation allows our applicants to apply for loans and grants. In addition to federal
and state funding, IYRS offers generous scholarships that are both need and merit based.
VETERANS BENEFITS
IYRS is approved to offer qualifed veterans education benefts through the Montgomery G.I.
Bill, Chapter 30, and the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill, Chapter 33, and Vocational Rehabilitation, Chapter 31.
