In modern times governance is a far broader concept.

For ages the institutional governance has been a

top-down model but presently the participatory models are more appreciated as its based on the idea
of shared leadership. This model states that duties should be distributed over a wide range of people
within a specific organization. The same notion is applicable on educational institutes too.
Our department IBM believes in awarding equal opportunity of expression and growth to individuals
therefore it has decided to take up a very democratic approach towards the governance of the
department. We acknowledge and stress upon the significance of student bodies managing various co-
curricular tasks. Considering the value of student voice we here by intend to establish different clubs
and societies to regulate a number of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and to ensure the
development of managerial and leadership skills in students enhancing their confidence, communication
and the ability to initiate and execute projects. It helps mutually in digging out the novel ideas from the
young minds as well as building a bridge between students and teacher. Faculty members are already
burdened with a lot of work-load in academics so its rather tough for them to look after the realm of
co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. Devising societies and clubs will share this burden and will
improve output obviously as the divided load will get better part of focus and a range of ideas will come
forword.
We plan to establish a ladies club pulling our female students on the frontiers. It will permit them to
articulate their minds, exercise and polish their skills, and achieve confidence to move at equal pace
with the males in the society. It will help in rendering projection to the females in the race of life.
Moreover its invaluable in solving the issues of female students among themselves.
We also intend to launch a recreation society which will be responsible for organizing various events in
the department. It will comprise of the organizers who will bring forth novel ideas regarding
arrangement of fun activities, carnivals, annual dramas, film fest, poetry competition etc. Moreover it
will also be responsible for organizing other co-curricular events as quizzes, debates, seminars etc. It
shall run a sub society related to the management of an event that will be in charge of the stage
designing and over all management of ceremony including the publicity, registration, refreshment,
finding sponsors etc.
Moreover we want to organize a society for the tasks of social betterment that will be running charities,
ventures for public awareness, and other works of public welfare. It will help in kindling a humanist
approach among students and they will show a concern for the development of society in general life.
Its practical benefits are numerous making the students noble human beings.
