1.0 INTRODUCTION
When the beams for mid span of ROB 8 were delivered to site, cracks were noticed on 3 of
the beams. The cracks were patched up using Sika 215 non-shrink grout and were
launched. During subsequent inspection, cracks were noticed not only on the said 3 beams
but also on another 6 beams. The cracks were all in the order of 0.1 0.15 mm and can be
categorized as hair line cracks but however, as a pre-cautionary measure to rule out that the
cracks are structural in nature, it is proposed to carry out a trial loading of the above
mentioned span.
