In order to feed his family, Hamir 8ul was forced to regularly leave
behind his wife, mother and three children to work as a day labourer in
another city. I)y average earnings were not enough to feed my family,J
shares Hamir. II was continuously stressed.J +hrough a 7resbyterian
World Service " @evelopment program working to improve food
security in Afghanistan, Hamir received basic veterinary training. 0e
now does veterinary work, treating ;' to 9' animals a month. 6y
ensuring livestock are healthy and properly cared for, he is proudly
contributing to food security in his community. Hamir says, II am happy
with my new occupation because I have an ade,uate income and
people benefit from the treatment I am able to provide for their
animals.J
