what course of action to take."
This was my prayer in regards to
a young woman I'd met the
previous year. And God met me
with my request. He told me to
"stand still and see the salvation
of the Lord." For the next nine
days, He strengthened my
physical body and renewed my
emotional energy so that I could
pour His truth into a hurting life.

Higher Ground
I want to live above the world,
Though satan's darts at me are hurled,
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground!
Lord lift me up and let me stand,
By faith on heaven's table land.
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord plant my feet on higher ground.

Nothing could have prepared me for the afternoon when a young woman walked up
to me in tears during a home school convention and asked if I could help her. She had
doubted her salvation for the past ten years and was desperate to know God in the
personal, intimate way she had been told about by others. But she didn't know how
to reach Him. We found a quiet hallway somewhere in the back recesses of the
building and I stumbled through some questions - totally taken off guard by this
sudden opportunity that had presented itself. My mind was blank as I skimmed the
pages of my Bible, looking for something that could help her. Every verse I'd ever
memorized was gone from my mind. At the end of the hall, someone was coming.
We waited for them to pass by, but just before that happened, an elderly man
stopped to ask if we were memorizing Scripture together. I told him we weren't and
as he disappeared around the corner, he called back, "Ephesians. It's a good book."
The hallway was quiet again and I silently thanked the Lord for His help. I encouraged
my new friend to read and meditate on Ephesians as God brought back to my mind
all the powerful truths about our identity that were found within it's pages. We
prayed together and before I left, she asked for my contact information. Digging
through my purse, the only paper I could find was a stack of pre-sealed envelopes
that had Scripture cards inside them. I couldn't remember which Scriptures were in
which envelope, so I grabbed one out of the middle of the stack, prayed that it would
be what she needed, and scribbled my email on the backside of the wrapping. I never
caught so much as a glimpse of her for the rest of the conference.
A week later, I received an email from the mysterious girl. She wrote about how she
had gone to the ladies room after our talk and cried out to God to make Himself
known to her. At the same time, she tore open the envelope with my contact
information to find Romans 8:35-39 about the invincible, inseparable love of God.
He met her in the humblest of places and she began flipping through her Bible as
verse after verse leapt off the pages with new meaning. From that point forward,
she never doubted her relationship with the Lord. At the end of her email, she
explained that she had since memorized almost a complete chapter of Ephesians
and was working on the rest of the book! Today, this young woman is witnessing to
her classmates while she puts in classroom hours at her local community college.
God has blessed her with an incredible passion for the lost. I praise the Lord that she
stopped me that day with a simple question: "Can you help me? I've been doubting
my salvation for 10 years."
She was a complete stranger...
I heard a quiet voice asking me if I had worked on staff with the girl's
program. I answered "yes" but I felt my schedule reminding me that I
needed to head to the next session. For some reason, I stayed. God was
about His business. He had a job He wanted me to do.

Prayer Requests:
That I would be faithful to give
God the glory due HIS name.
He has made me glad through
HIS works!
That the young ladies I'm
currently serving would desire
Christ above all other earthly
joys and be willing to sell out
for God!
For God's direction and
guidance as I consider some
possible expansions of the
ministry, including live events.
That I would be sensitive to
the lessons God wants to
teach me through the young
ladies I'm ministering to!
