U.S.GOVERNMENT PLATES (issued prior to October 2001) DARK BLUE lettering on WHITE background. U.S. GOVERNMENT across top of tag.
U.S.GOVERNMENT PLATES (issued after 01 October 2001) Beginning October 2001, new plate introduced which contains security enhancements within the design.
The new license plates incorporated the following enhancements: Plate is flat and digitally produced with an embossed flange rim. Plate has reflective sheeting (similar to state-issued license plates). Plate has reflective watermark (repeating phrase U.S.Government on all plates). Plate has an American Eagle hologram positioned vertically down the center. Contains clearly identifying seal or logo of Federal agency or bureau owning vehicle.
GSA Motor Pool Vehicles. The General Service Administration (GSA) maintains vehicles in motor pools across the nation for official use by Government agencies and departments. The ALPHA-NUMERIC PREFIX on these GSA-pool license plates identify the vehicle class of the assigned vehicle. For example, the two sample license tags above are assigned to Buses according to the G32 class identifying prefix.
