Step by step installation of software driver and Application Program

Note:
Do not use the latest driver software and Application Program to this STV Ver: 3.0 and
5.0. The TV tuner will loose the NTSC and FM (for ENLTV-FM) features if the new
version Software Driver and Application Program is used. Use only the setup disc that
came with the product or from Encore Technical Support.

How to find out version number of your PCI TV tuner adapter?

Looking at the card with Encore Electronics logo in front of you, check the markings on
the lower right corner of the PCI card. They are marked STV VER: 3.0, STV VER: 5.0

1) It is very important to uninstall all previous TV tuner Software Drivers and

Application Program software.
To uninstall Software Driver:
• Click on START, go to “Control Panel” and go to “System”. Click on
“Hardware’ tab, then click on “Device Manager”. Expand the “Sound,
Video and game controllers” then right-click TV tuner lines then
select “Uninstall”, re-start your computer.
2) When PC is completely re-started, a dialogue box “Welcome to the Found New
Hardware Wizard” screen will appear. Click to select “No not at this time” radio
button then click “Next”.
3) Click and Select “Install from a list of specific location. [Advanced], then click
“Next”
4) Click “Have Disk””
5) Click the “Browse” button. Using the local browser look for the CDROM drive
assigned letter (usually D: or E: ). You will find different folders for specific
version of Windows. These are folders - 32Bit DRV (for Windows XP 32 bit),
64Bit_DRV (for Windows XP 64 bit), Vista_64Bit_DRV (for Windows Vista 32
bit) and Vista_32Bit_DRV (for Windows Vista 32 bit).
6) Once inside driver folder, select the PhTV7134 from the list then click “OK”.
7) Select “Encore TV Tuner Pro PCI Adapter” or “Encore Video Captures” then
click “Next”
8) If “Yes” or “No” selection screen comes up select and click the “Yes” button
9) Click “Continue Anyway” to the new message screen
10) Click Finish to end the software driver installation. Don’t forget to re-start your
computer even if not asked to do so. Check the “Device Manager” screen and
make sure the “Encore TV Tuner Pro PCI Adapter” or “Encore Video Captures”
is shown and no tag (yellow or red).
11) To install the Application Program, insert the setup disc to your CDROM drive,
wait for the Install Menu screen then use the selections to select AP for Win XP
or AP for Win Vista. Follow the user friendly instructions from the screen.
