Integrated
decommissioning
solutions
TWMAs specialist advisers can assist in the compilation
of decommissioning plans at the earliest project stage,
meaning clients can benet from our expertise in
planning as well as execution phases.
Project management
TWMA can co-ordinate your entire waste management process, from
initial audits to co-ordination of third-party suppliers, ensuring that
projects run smoothly from beginning to end. Project managers also
co-ordinate the reuse of recovered materials, ensuring they are reused
in the local community wherever possible.
Audit
The key to effective waste management and reduction is to identify
sources of waste prior to developing and implementing a waste
minimisation plan. Likewise, successful decommissioning relies on
a thorough assessment of the materials involved. Our proven audit
process allows us to develop tailored waste management strategies
to suit project-specic requirements.
Offshore clean-up prior to
decommissioning
Offering a full range of clean-up and clean-down services, TWMA
manages and implements the treatment of spills and contaminated
areas prior to the commencement of decommissioning projects.
The removal of all chemicals, liquids and other hazardous or
non-hazardous wastes signicantly improves the safety and
efciency of all subsequent procedures.
Recovered subsea equipment
and structures
Once recovered materials arrive on the quayside TWMA manages all
onshore logistics and processing, including onshore cleaning, cutting
and resizing. With particular expertise in the handling of large subsea
structures and equipment such as risers, riser bases, owlines,
umbilicals, mid-water arches and mattresses, all constituents are
fully prepared for reuse, recycling or disposal, with the aim of reducing
or eliminating the total volume of waste sent to landll. We have the
capability to process equipment and structures recovered from both
above and below the waterline and achieve an average recycling
rate of 95%.
Handling and processing of
decommissioned drill cuttings
TWMA has the capability to treat legacy drill cuttings piles recovered
from offshore drilling operations, which have historically been left in
situ on the seabed. We have the technology to process drill cuttings
into their core constituents of oil, water and rock powder, all of which
have potential for reuse or recycling. Processing equipment can be
transported to the rig site, removing the requirement for potentially
hazardous handling and logistics operations.
Offshore pit and tank cleaning
TWMA provides expertly trained staff and specialist equipment to
ensure all processes are completed to the highest HSEQ standards.
All cleaning operations are managed through a closely audited and
reported permit-to-work system.
TWMAs patented technology operates a closed-loop methodology
to lter and recirculate water throughout the cleaning process. This
signicantly reduces both water and chemical consumption, thus
minimising the quantity of tank washings requiring treatment once the
process has been completed.
Complete solutions give complete results
TWMA offers something that its competitors simply cannot with
over a decade of experience in waste management, processing
and reduction, our knowledge of the eld is unrivalled. Drawing on
rst-hand insight and understanding, we push the limits of engineering
and procedural knowledge. Plus our waste-processing technology is
designed and manufactured in-house, so quality is guaranteed.
We adhere to the philosophy that all accidents are preventable
and continually pursue ways to further reduce risk and safeguard
all involved in our operations.
Our complete reporting regime and exacting environmental standards
have earned the trust of the oil and gas industry, with TWMA providing
consultancy solutions in respect to global and regional environmental
issues and regulation.
An integrated approach
Decommissioning is an emerging market that is set to increase
over the coming years as ageing production assets reach the end
of their life cycle. Operators have a responsibility to ensure they
leave as little environmental trace as possible once an installation is
decommissioned, and TWMA offers comprehensive solutions for
end-of-life projects as well as refurbishment and replacement for
ageing assets.
Given the diverse range of materials generated by decommissioning
projects, integrated solutions provide the ideal solution. Our
extensive experience in handling and processing various oil and
gas waste streams, allows TWMA to offer clients a complete waste
management solution for decommissioning projects.
