The Manpower Association of a country has conducted a survey to investigate the amount of
workers whose ages are between 20 60 years and working in the various sectors of the
economy. The results of the survey are given in the spreadsheet named WORKERS located
in your folder.
(a) Retrieve the spreadsheet named WORKERS located in your folder.
(b) Insert a column to the right with the heading STOT and a row at the bottom with the text
ATOT in the sector column. (2 marks)
(c) Insert a row between the Forestry and Manufacturing rows with the following
data:

(d) Insert the appropriate formulae to compute the total number of workers in EACH
sector and the total number of workers in EACH age group. (2
marks)

(e) Insert a new row at the bottom of the spreadsheet with the text "%" in the Sector
column. Use the appropriate formulae to find what percentage of the total number
of workers is accounted for by the total of EACH age group. Format the data in
this row to percentages with 2 decimal places. Insert ALL borders to the cells in
this row.

(f) Align the headings for ALL numeric columns to the right of the cell. (1
mark )

(g) Format ALL numeric data to comma (,) format with 0 decimal place. (1
mark )


(h) Enter the text MANPOWER AUDIT as the title row for the spreadsheet. Insert
a blank row between the title row and the rest of the spreadsheet. Format the title
row such that it is at the centre of the columns used by the spreadsheet and is bold
with font size Arial 20.

(i) Insert a footer with your name on the left. (1

(j) Arrange the data in the spreadsheet such that the sectors are arranged in
descending order by the total numbers of workers in the sector.

(k) Filter the data to show all sectors with more than 2000 workers in each of the age
groups. Set up the criteria range and the extraction range in a blank area of the
spreadsheet. (3

(1) In a blank area of the spreadsheet, enter the following and use appropriate
formulae to perform the calculations:




(m) On the same spreadsheet, create a PIE chart to show number of workers in the
different age groups working in the Agriculture sector. Each slice should indicate
which age group it represents. Save the spreadsheet as WORKERSA. (2
marks)
(n) In a new worksheet, create a COLUMN chart to show the sectors and the total
number of workers in each of the sectors. Each column should indicate which
sector it represents. The title of the column chart should be "DISTRIBUTION OF
WORKERS". Label the axes appropriately. Save the spreadsheet as
WORKERSB.
