OPERATING PROCEDURES:
1. Connecting the printer
i) Make the connections for the stepper motors, optical switches and nozzle
as per the wiring diagram.
ii) Connect the printer to the PC via USB cable.
iii) Connect the Power supply to the Electricity. Supply has to take from the
UPS in order to avoid unnecessary shutting down of the printer during printing.
iv) Switch on the Button .

2.Configuring Pronterface with PC
1. Open pronterface.exe
2. Click Port button. It scans for possible ports.

3. Select the appropriate port for connection.
4. Set the baud rate as 250000.
5. Click Connect button. The printer will be connected with the software
and the X, Y and Z axes icons will be highlighted. Bring the X, Y and Z axes to their
respective home positions.
6

6. Set temperature = 220 -230 Degree Celsius for ABS
= 180-195 Degree Celsius for PLA

7. Click Check temperature.

7

8. Click Monitor Printer. This shows the current temperature in numerical
value and as graph.
3. Procedure for Printing solid STL file using 0.4mm nozzle:
1. Click Settings -> Slicing settings in Pronterface main menu and enter the
following values.

2. Click Save Configuration. Now the settings will be saved in .ini format.

10

3. Click Load file to select the STL file from the computer.

4. Check whether the temperature reaches the target value. If yes, Click
Print.

While printing, you can see only the layer that is being printed at that
instant of time. You can also enlarge the view of the print pattern by clicking on
the GCode view screen.

NOTE:
The printing may stops in between due to communication problem. In that
case,Click 'PAUSE' and 'RESUME' to continue printing.
Always use UPS for printer to avoid unnecessary shut down of the printer.
