Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to a new school year! Bienvenue une nouvelle anne scolaire! I hope you
had a pleasant and restful summer. I look forward to an exciting and productive
year!

Students are encouraged to be very active participants in our learning environment.
They will set goals and discover a variety of strategies to achieve them. Please take
some time to review the Code of Conducted posted at the front of the Agenda with
your child.

As we begin, I would like to bring a few items to your attention.

Supplies

-2 x 1 inch binders (preferably white and black) (not bulky zippered ones please)
-2 packs of dividers (5 sections each)
-calculator
-HB pencils, coloured pencils/markers, pencil box, highlighters, glue sticks,
erasers, scissors, pens (red and blue), ruler with cm units
-Geometry kit including a protractor
-lined paper (200), white paper (100)
-Kleenex box
-indoor running shoes for Gym
-combination lock
-reading materials of interest
-a school bag and lunch bag

Classroom Website

Our classroom Website can be seen at www.madameboudreau.blogspot.ca

Please visit this Website on a nightly basis. It is an interactive tool for students
and parents to use. I will post a variety of classroom lessons here, you will be able
to communicate with me through this site, and students will be able to ask for
assistance from their peers or from the teacher. Please let me know if you do not
have Internet or you are not able to access the Website.
I would like to send out emails this year of important projects or assessment dates.
Please provide an email address that will be checked on a regular basis.


Absences

Please send me a note through the Website or Agenda if your child will be absent
from school.

Homework

Students will have homework on a daily basis. They are required to write their
homework in their Agenda. It will also be posted on the classroom Website under
the Calendar tab.

French

Students are required to speak French in the classroom. They will be encouraged to
speak French amongst their peers and develop a positive attitude toward the French
language. There will be many opportunities to develop their vocabulary and
communication skills throughout the year.

Electronics

We live in a world filled with technology. Students may bring their electronics to
school to do research on the Internet when needed. It is important to note that
your child is responsible for his/her own items. The teacher will not be responsible
for lost or stolen items.

Students are encouraged to arrive at school on time. Important lessons are taught
upon arrival! When students are absent, they are responsible to catch up on missed
work and assignments.

My expectations for conduct and standards for academic growth are high. With
your assistance, we can look forward to a productive, creative and fun year
together! Your support at home is valuable to your childs success. You are your
childs first educator.
