Sitapatr School This week we are learning: Prepositions Circle Tie !e"iew This week in circle we will continue to review the feelings vocabulary. Now that the children are familiar with the majority of the vocabulary, we will look at sentence structure, How are you! and " am#! The word thirsty and the difference between hungry! and angry! will be reviewed as the children found these words harder to learn. $e will continue with the days of the week, weather and morning songs as %art of our usual routine. $e will also %lay a ball game to review what is your name!

(ames and )ctivities $e will %lay the fly swat game with some %re%ositions flash cards which show %ictures of a box and football to ex%lain all of the vocabulary. $e will %lay a game which will involve each child having a cu% and a small toy such as a dinosaur. They will then need to listen carefully for the instructions which will tell the children where to %lace their cu% and dinosaur. $e will all observe each other to make sure everyone has it correct. "f the game becomes easy, the children will be told to close their eyes whilst moving the items into %osition and then o%en to see if everyone has done the same thing. ) chair game will involve a child and chair. The child will need to listen to the %re%osition to find out where bouts they need to %osition themselves around the chair. )s ex%lained in %honics, there are no new letter sounds however, sounds will be linked to objects this week, and reviews will continue. !e"iew This week we will be looking at com%leting the *k %honics work book and then moving on to the next one which covers (,+,,,-,.,/ sounds. $e will also be looking at linking initial sounds of words to the correct letter. .or exam%le, we will begin with the a! sound and look at and discuss that ant! and a%%le! begins with this sound. $e briefly touched on this last week and this week will continue to look at the first few letters of the al%habet. $e will %lay a sound box game where there will be items and large %ictures in a box which is %assed around the circle to music. $hen the music sto%s, the child with the box wil o%en it, identify the item and then its0 sound. $e will continue reviewing all letter sounds to ensure all children are aware of all sounds. Writing &ractice 1uring %honics, the books com%leted will cover both guided letter %ractice and exercises to increase dexterity.
