Watu Ulo is one of the tourist sites which lies on the Indonesian ocean. This tourist destination
is popular with its beautiful scenery. It also is the perfect place to enjoy the sea. It is called "Watu
Ulo" by the natives because they believe that in the past there was a snake who was becoming a
spirit. After becoming a spirit it became a stone resembling a snake sticking into the sea with its
body lying on the land. !uring the "apanese occupation the "apanese soldiers made fortresses
which were used for fortifying against the attacking enemies and now some of the fortresses have
become tourist sites. #eside the "apanese fortress there is also a bat cave inhabited by thousands
of bats. The visitors can cross the sandy shore to get to the cave. The lonely cave is often used for

A cactus (plural: cacti) is any member of the plant family Cactaceae, native to the Americas.
They are often used as ornamental plants, but some are also crop plants. Cacti are grown for
protection of property from wild animals, as well as many other uses. Cacti are part of the plant order
Caryophyllales, which also include members like beets, gypsophila, spinach, amaranth, tumbleweeds,
carnations, rhubarb, buckwheat, plumbago, bougainvillea, chickweed and knotgrass.
Cacti are unusual and distinctive plants, which are adapted to etremely arid and hot
environments, showing a wide range of anatomical and physiological features which conserve water.
Their stems have adapted to become photosynthetic and succulent, while the leaves have become
the spines for which cacti are well known.
Cacti come in a wide range of shapes and si!es. The tallest is Pachycereus pringlei, with a
maimum recorded height of "#.$ m, and the smallest is Blossfeldia liliputiana, only about " cm
diameter at maturity. Cactus flowers are large, and like the spines and branches arise from areoles.
