was founded in 1978 by
Luciano Raimondi, Marco
Pagani and Andreino Caccia.
The three partners are still the
sole owners of EL.CA with
Raimondi handling the
administrative and commercial
aspects of the company, Pagani
responsible for the technical side
and Caccia looking after the
workshop and the firms
purchases - raw materials,
components, etc. The company,
which approximately 18 months
ago transferred to a new site in
Olgiate Olona, in the province
of Varese, situated in northwest
Italy, is conveniently located just
10 minutes away from highway
A8 - known as the Highway to
the Lakes - and from Malpensa
International Airport. EL.CA
headquarters, comprising the
offices and factory, stretches over
approximately 500 square
meters.
Qualityatforefront
With only six staff members, the
firm manufactures products
that are widely used by
medium-to-large radio
broadcasters throughout Italy,
Europe as well as in Central and
South America. Sixty percent of
total EL.CA turnover, in fact, is
derived from foreign sales.
Just recently the company also
began delivering products to
Africa and in the short-term
plans on expanding into the
Asian market. EL.CA
manufactures FM exciters and
Studio-to-Transmitter (STL)
links primarily for radio
broadcasting. In the last five
years alone, the company has
produced and sold more than
4,500 STL units in Italy and
abroad, with the former
counting for about 60 percent of
its STL sales and the latter
making up the remaining 40
percent. EL.CA has grown very
quickly. Just five years ago the
firm offered 50- and 100-W
XTP series exciters, while today
it can provide an entire range of
exciters, from 50 W to 1 kW.
Moreover, the company is at
present busy developing exciters
with an output power 2 kW and
2.5 kW. We always develop our
products with quality in mind,
said Raimondi.
We also try to offer the best
quality-to-price ratio to our
customers, but we never sacrifice
quality for price, he
emphasized. Whats more, he
said, all our products are
certified according to the EU
R&TTE Directive. While
EL.CA products are today
partially able to be controlled
remotely, the company is
investing further means into
research and development so as
to permit their systems to
become fully remote
controllable.
The company also offers after-
sales technical support to its
customers worldwide, either
directly, through its extensive
network of highly professional
dealers, or through OEM
agreements.
