Crosbys, Reid Petroleum, and Montante Solar Unveil New Renewable Energy
System at Amherst-Wehrle Drive Location
NYSERDA-backed project represents Crosbys second convenience store location to
utilize solar power as well as Western New Yorks first fueling station canopy installation

AMHERST, NEW YORK Today Crosbys, Reid Petroleum, and Montante Solar
announced the installation of a 110 panel, 29-kilowatt combination canopy-and-roof
mounted solar array system at its Crosbys Amherst, New York location. This project
marks Crosbys second convenience store location to utilize solar power as well as the
first fueling station canopy installation of its kind in the Western New York region.

Crosbys and Reid Petroleum are committed to adopting innovative, sustainable
approaches to everyday operations as a way to be both good corporate citizens and
leaders in green energy practices, said Reid Group president Paul Quebral. Such
efforts really help us distinguish our brand. At the same time, this new solar array
installation will offer significant energy savings and consumption reductions at our
Wehrle Drive location, while producing green, renewable power that reduces stress on
the regional electric grid.

The Crosbys Amherst store solar array includes the first canopy installation in WNY
solar panels installed directly over the facilitys fueling stations (gas pumps). The array
includes 110 (265-watt) Panels, with 44 placed on the roof and another 66 situated on
the canopy. All are connected to the main circuit breaker. The array generated 4,300

kWh in the first full calendar month of continual operation and is expected to produce
30,000 kWh annually. Excess energy generated at the facility will be fed into the grid.

Crosbys is proud to be at the forefront of green energy technology-usage within in our
industry, said Quebral. We are also very fortunate to have such expert partners as
Montante Solar and NYSERDA in our corner as we tackle these new and innovative
concepts and installations.

The Crosbys, Reid Petroleum, and Montante Solar Amherst store location project
received partial funding assistance through the New York State Energy Research and
Development Authority (NYSERDA).

This project once again showcases the market viability of our solar technology in a
retail setting, and will help a thriving local Western New York business become even
more environmentally sustainable, while reducing its monthly electric bills, said
Montante Solar President Daniel Montante.

The new energy efficiency achieved with this collaborative project presents a path
toward environmental sustainability, providing a boost for our community and
encouraging more businesses and homeowners to pursue solar power, said New York
State Senator Tim Kennedy. With this trio of strong, innovative companies working
together, we are moving forward to an even greater and greener future here in
Western New York. I applaud Crosbys, Reid Petroleum, and Montante Solar on this
exciting renewable energy project, and I look forward to the continued economic
opportunities it will help foster for local families.

Todays announcement of Crosbys solar array is a big one for Amherst and Western
New York, and also for local small businesses, as it demonstrates how innovation can
benefit both customers and the community, said New York State Assemblyman Ray
Walter. With this installation, the first of its kind in Erie County, Crosbys and Reid
Petroleum have set themselves apart as leaders, exemplifying the spirit of community-
minded innovation that the most successful businesses embrace every day.

Were very pleased that Crosbys in Amherst was chosen for this innovative new
technology, the first retail canopy installation of its kind in Western New York, said
Amherst Councilmember Steven Sanders. I give credit to Crosbys, Reid Petroleum, and
Montante Solar for offering this innovative renewable energy solution.

What an excellent, highly visible green energy project to have undertaken right here
on the border of Amherst and Cheektowaga, said Town of Cheektowaga Supervisor
Mary Holtz. Its a testament to the impact that small businesses can have in a
community, and I commend all involved on their innovative spirit.

The private sector continues to show its leadership in promoting sustainability and
implementing projects that enhance our great community, said Amherst Chamber of
Commerce President and CEO Colleen DiPirro. The Amherst Chamber of Commerce
enthusiastically supports the innovative spirit on display here and encourages other
employers to follow suit when possible.
