Radio station memory preset
The radio is equipped w ith six
station m em ory preset controls.
These controls can be used to
select up to six preset A M stations
and tw elve FM stations (six in FM 1
and six in FM 2).
Setting memory preset stations
1.Select the frequency band w ith
the A M /FM select control.
2.Select a station.Refer to Tune
adjust or Seek functi on for m ore
inform ation on selecting a station.
3.Press and hold a m em ory preset
controluntilthe sound returns,
indicating the station is held in
m em ory on the controlyou
selected.

Troubleshooting the CD
changer
The laser beam used in the
com pact disc player is
harm fulto the eyes.D o not
attem pt to disassem ble the case.
Ifsound skips:
You m ay be traveling on a rough
road,playing badly scratched
discs or the disc m ay be dirty.
Skipping w illnot scratch the
discs or dam age the player.
Ifchanger does not w ork:
A disc is already loaded w here
you w ant to insert disc.
The disc is inserted w ith the

The disc is dusty or defective.
The players internal
tem perature is above 75C
(167F).A llow the player to
cooldow n before operating.

Com m ission (FCC) and the
Canadian Radio and
Telecom m unications
Com m unications (CRTC) establish
the frequencies A M and FM
stations m ay use for their
broadcasts.A llow able frequencies
are:

given area.
RADIO RECEPTION FACTORS
Three factors can affect radio
reception:
D istance/strength.The further
an FM station travels,the
w eaker it is.The listenable
range ofthe average FM station
is approxim ately 40 km (24
m iles).This range can be
affected by signalm odulation.
Signalm odulation is a process
radio stations use to increase
their strength/volum e relative to
other stations.
Terrain.H ills,m ountains and tall
buildings betw een your vehicles
antenna and the radio station
signalcan cause FM reception
problem s.Static can be caused
on A M stations by pow er lines,
electric fences,traffic lights,
driving under bridges and
