Thankfully, all jail cell doors will be left open! The new facility, built
adjacent to the existing Justice Center, will be completed in a single
phase and is scheduled to open next spring. Join us at 4 p.m. on the 29th
to tour the new facilities and learn about the challenges overcome in the
construction of this new facility. The project was procured under
Virginia's PPEA, Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure
Act.

I look forward to working with all of you in our ASCE Richmond branch to
have a productive and successful fall season.

Sincerely,

Austin Clark

The ASCE Richmond Branch Annual Golf Tournament is held to raise
money to support our educational outreach efforts. This tournament
provides the primary source of funding used by the Education Committee
to promote member involvement to pre-college and college age
students.

Money raised will go toward the Popsicle Bridge Competition, held
annually for middle and high school students as part of Engineer's Day at
the Science Museum of Virginia. The money will also provide a $1,000
scholarship to a student at UVA who is majoring in civil engineering, and
support social events throughout the year to promote member
involvement.

Contact Caleb Lange by phone at 804-641-8278 or by email at
clange@FandR.com for more information or to register.
