H arm onic broadcast products feature a com pact design,

full M P EG -2 com pliance and the endorsem ent of m ajor
service providers w orldw ide. The B roadcast N etw ork
G atew ay (B N G ) fam ily of products offers digital turn-
around, rem ote Q A M -R F m odulation, IP adaptation, and full
D VB Sim ulC rypt scram bling capability in a com pact one
rack unit (R U ) chassis. The sm all footprint and highly inte-
grated functionality provide operators a cost-effective solu-
tion w ith reduced space requirem ents, few er com ponents
and a m ore elegant netw ork m anagem ent architecture.
The B N G 6000 fam ily leverages years of IP technology
developm ent and thousands of system s deployed in live
netw orks. The B N G allow s operators to transport services
across an IP netw ork and at the rem ote headend to trans-
port services as standard M P EG -2 over the H FC netw ork.
The B N G is a robust D VB Sim ulC rypt scram bler, w hich has
been integrated w ith all m ajor C AS vendors, and has been
successfully integrated in C able, D B S and M M D S system s
w orldw ide. The B N G Scram bler is a softw are add-on to the
B N G system , and provides full scram bling for up to 5 C AS
vendors sim ultaneously, on each of the B N G s outputs.
The B N G plays a central role in the Passage initiative, an
innovative technology that allow s best of breed conditional
access system s (C AS) and set top boxes to co-exist w ith
legacy proprietary cable system s. The B N G Passage
Processor gives cable operators, w ho have until now been
locked into proprietary system s, the freedom to add
standard D VB system s to the netw ork, in coexistence w ith
the proprietary set-top boxes and system s in place.
The B N G can be configured and m onitored using a w eb
brow ser or as part of a com plete solution m anaged by
H arm onic's N M X D igital Service M anager .
B ased on the industry's m ost w idely im plem ented stan-
dards, H arm onic broadcast system s are easy to expand
and upgrade. D elivering over 30,000 Q A M channels
