Abilene, TX February 12, 2013 Lighthouse Electric Cooperative is collecting and

organizing the data necessary to better model and analyze its electrical distribution system and manage
its assets so as to be able to engineer and operate as reliably, economically and efficiently as possible.
As the demands on our electric distribution system become not only greater but more complex, we
must have an accurate, detailed computer model and facilities data base, said IT Manager Tim Kendall,
Milsoft GIS and FE will enable us to do both.

Lighthouse EC, headquartered in Floydada, Texas, is a non-profit, member-owned and democratically
governed utility. The cooperative changed its name from Floyd County EC through a member contest
from an entry suggesting Lighthouse because the wonderful REA electricity lights up my home like a
lighthouse on the plains. Lighthouse Electric Cooperative provides electric energy to nearly 9,000
customers in 12 counties in Texas southeastern panhandle, southern high plains, and rolling plains areas.
