Dictatorship does not necessarily result in development, defined by human well-being(which incorporates education, health,

income, and safety from internal and external threats)and even by personal discipline. Furthermore, there is no conclusive
evidence proving that either dictatorship nor democracy cause development. Nonetheless, we will prove dictatorships incorporate
more control over the variables that define development so in consequence are a better course to get to it. Also, that
dictatorships guarantee the Social Order, which is a very necessary prerequisite for any kind of economic accumulation process
to be feasible. A form of government in which absolute power is concentrated in a dictator or a small clique, dictatorships are
subject to retaliatory actions. We propose this should end.
Democratic nations should not take retaliatory actions against dictatorial governments in order to diminish their legitimacy, their
power, and to promote their overthrown in exchange for a democratic alternative. This actions account for the diminishing of
economic & diplomatic relations with Burma and Iran and the cut of economic aid to Honduras de facto Government.
We will prove that these sort of actions can only undermine the possibility of development finally kicking in this countries, since
dictatorship is the best way to achieve it.
Dictatorship can be defined as a form of government in which the power is centralized. It either lies with a single person or a
small group of people. The general population has no say in the functioning of the government. The people do not have any
choice with regards to by whom or how their country will be run. In a dictatorship form of government, the people are
expected to do, whatever is decided for them by the dictator. China, Zimbabwe, Egypt and Cuba, among many others, follow
dictatorship form of government. Let us try to understand its advantages.

Stable Government
As in a dictatorship, the decision-making lies with only one person and others do not have any say in the working of the
government, it offers a kind of stability to the country. Problems such as frequent elections, as in the case of democracy, or
a disruption of peace due to political factions, do not arise in a dictatorship.

Less Room for Corruption
A dictator is very stringent with regards to the rules, regulations, penalties, punishments and rewards. This makes the people
working under him less liable to corruption.

Most Efficient During Emergencies
When a country faces any kind of emergency, such as a war or a health epidemic, a dictatorship government can prove to be
the most efficient one. The reason being that all the decisions are taken by one person, so there is no ambiguity with regards
to the plan of action as well as individual responsibilities that are fixed to cope with the emergency. So one of its main
advantages over democracy is that it is better equipped to face emergencies.

Lesser Crime Rate
Most of the dictatorship governments are police states. So, in a way there is low crime rate under such regimes. Another
reason for a better law and order situation in these states is that various laws are passed immediately, without any
discussion or waiting for the public opinion on them. This leads to better control over crimes too.

"Things Happen" Quickly
In a dictatorship form of government, all things, whether related to governance or businesses or anything else, happen much
quicker than in other types of government. The reason for this is the same i.e. decision-making lies with a single person.

Although for these advantages to translate into real life, a dictator needs to be self less, benevolent, well experienced and
intelligent. As a dictator has unlimited power, if he does not possess these qualities, the disadvantages of dictatorship, such
as oppression of people, no freedom of choice for the people, accumulation of wealth in a few hands, loss of civil rights,
flawed decision-making, etc. can lead the country towards a wrong path. Looking at the stakes associated with a dictatorship
form of government, many countries under such a regime are considering becoming democracies, which is a form of
government for the people, of the people and by the people. Today, looking at the progress democracies such as America
and India are making, democracy is considered the best form of governance.
Benefits of Dictatorship
Dictatorship is kind of government where the control is centralized, either lying with one individual or a group of
individuals. In dictatorship governance, the citizens do not have any say with regards to how the government functions. The
people are required to perform any duties that their dictator has decided for them. China and Cuba are excellent examples of
countries that use dictatorship. There are many benefits of dictatorship as shown below.
1. Highly efficient in emergencies
In the unlikely event of an emergency condition like a health disaster or even war, a dictatorship form of governance is
highly efficient. This is because the necessary decisions are made by one individual, which eliminates the ambiguity
concerning what actions should be done and also individual responsibilities. Dictatorship is therefore well equipped for
facing emergencies.
2. Limits corruption
The other key advantage of the dictatorship system is the fact that there is limited space for corruption. In general, dictators
are quite stringent when it comes to regulations, punishments, rewards, penalties and rules. This makes employees in
dictatorship governance less prone to corruption.
3. Stable country
Dictatorship offers essential stability to a country since all the decisions are made by one individual. This eliminates
problems like clashes that occur following elections in democratic type of governance. Dictatorship is also recommended in
areas where there is constant interference of peace caused by political factions.
4. Lower crime rates
Most dictatorship systems are police nations and there is generally a lower crime rate in such regimes. The other reason for
lower crime rates is that different laws regarding security are immediately passed, without waiting for public opinion or any
discussion on them. This results in a much better control of the security system.
The main danger linked to dictatorship is the fact that the common citizen does not have any protection against powers of
both arrest and execution.
