Terms and conditions


The 2012 Maverick @ Campus (the Contest) is
sponsored by Deloitte. The contest participants agree
to the below terms and conditions and acknowledge that
decisions of Deloitte will be nal and binding on all matters
relating to this contest.
1. Eligibility criteria for participation:
Full-time residential PGP/PGDM/MBA (1 and 2-year
programs) with any specialization
1st year and 2nd year students
Participation is restricted to students of invited
campuses only
2. How to participate:
Eligible students must form teams consisting of
three members who meet the aforementioned
requirements
A student cannot be a member of more than one
team. If a participant from one team is found to be a
member of 2 or more teams, then all teams he/she is
a part of will be disqualied. There is no restriction in
the number of the teams participating from
one campus
All three members of a team should be from
the same campus; an ideal team mix may have
representation from 1st year as well as 2nd
year batch
The team must designate a Team Captain who has
to register his or her team with below details via
email (usicampusmaverick@deloitte.com) before
July 16, 2012, marking a copy to the campus
placement cell

The registration by the team would also be
considered as a formal acceptance of the terms and
conditions of the contest
There is no registration fee and both the registration
and the submission of the business challenge
solution will be via online media, except for the
regional and nal rounds which will be in person
The Team Captain will be the single point of contact
for all communication with regards to the contest
In the event a team member has an emergency and
cannot further participate in the Contest, the team
member can be substituted with another eligible
member only after prior approval of the Deloitte
Maverick Team

3. Contest stages:

July 6, 2012 All necessary communications material including contest details,
guidelines and case study released to campuses. Registration process
closes on July 16, 2012.
Unveiling
the Maverick
challenge
July 14, 2012 The details of the case study and the guidelines for submission to be
shared with the students.
Entry submission July 20, 2012 All participating teams submit their executive summary and presentation
brief. Shortlist for this round would be declared on August 9, 2012, by
an email to the placement committees of respective campuses.
Qualiers round August 1118, 2012 Shortlisted teams will present their solution to the Maverick Jury to qualify
for The Grand Finale. The venue for this stage shall be identied on
regional basis; the details will be communicated to the shortlisted teams.
Shortlist from this round would be declared on August 20, 2012, by
email to their respective campuses and the Team captains.
The grand nale August 3031, 2012 The nalists would be invited to Deloittes Hyderabad ofce to participate
in The Grand Finale.
4. Submission format:
The Executive Summary should not exceed 1500 words and should be saved in a PDF format with
Font Type Arial, Font Size 10, Line spacing 1.0
The Presentation should be limited to 10 slides only excluding the introduction and appendix slides
(appendix slides should not exceed 5 slides)
Both the above les should be named in the given format: <Maverick_Campus Name_Team Name> and sent
along in the same email to usicampusmaverick@deloitte.com

5. The prizes:
The regional qualiers prizes
Category Team prize
Participation prize Exciting gifts for all participants in the Regional Qualiers

Second prize `1,50,000 (`50,000 per team member)
Participation prize for rest of the

Deloitte decision will be nal and binding and no further appeal shall be entertained in this regard
Neither the invitation to participate in the Contest, nor the Contest itself, is or shall be considered an agreement to
award any prize or any other consideration to any participant
Deloitte reserves the right to make any award, group of awards, or no award of prizes as it determines, in its sole
discretion
The prize money is subject to withholding taxes as applicable
6. Cost of participation
Deloitte will reimburse the cost of travel and accommodation of shortlisted participants for the Regional Qualiers and
The Grand Finale rounds subject to prior approval from the Deloitte Maverick Team. Any other expenses related to
participation or submission (e.g., Printing, scanning, faxing, telephones/ cellphones, researching, etc.) will be borne by the
participants.
7. Code of conduct
Professional behavior is expected of all participating teams.
Participants should also abide by applicable intellectual
property rights laws in their submissions. Each team is
required to maintain the highest standards of honesty
and integrity throughout the Contest. Any violation of the
terms and conditions or breach of integrity will result in
immediate disqualication of a team.
8. Miscellaneous
Deloitte reserves the right to extend an invitation to
any campus to participate in the Contest
The issuance of these terms and conditions in no
way constitutes an agreement between Deloitte and
any participant. The information contained in any
documentation made available to a participant shall
be used only for purposes of participating in
this Contest
Deloitte reserves the right to disqualify any
participant, team or answer submission, in its sole
discretion, without any liability to Deloitte, for
any reason, including, without limitation, if any
participant is found violating any of the terms
and conditions
Any and all timelines mentioned by Deloitte in
the terms and conditions and any other Contest
documents are indicative in nature. While Deloitte
will try to observe within the specied timelines on
a best efforts basis, they cannot be held liable in any
manner for their inability to do so
9. Release
Deloitte and its respective past, present, and future
parents, subsidiaries and afliates; and all of the foregoing
entities partners, principals, members, directors, ofcers,
employees, agents, representatives, attorneys, heirs,
executors, administrators, transferees, and assigns
(collectively, Released Parties) are not responsible for
lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, stolen, misdirected,
undelivered, delayed or garbled answer submissions
or registrations, or other errors or malfunctions of any
kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic, network,
typographical, printing or otherwise, relating to or in
connection with the Contest, including, without limitation,
errors or malfunctions which may occur in connection with
the administration of the Contest, the processing of answer
submissions and registrations, the announcement of the
prizes or in any Contest-related materials. Participants,
by participating, agree to release and hold harmless
the Released Parties for any injuries, losses, damages,
rights, claims or actions of any kind in connection with
the Contest, resulting in whole or in part, directly or
indirectly, from the participation in this Contest or from
the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize,
including, without limitation, personal injuries, accidents
(including death), property damage, and claims based on
compensation due, intellectual property rights, publicity
rights, defamation or invasion of privacy. The participants
are aware that any remark, comment or gesture from
any person whether judge or participant cannot be taken
personally and will in no way hold Deloitte, its afliates,
or their applicable partners, principals, directors, business
associates, employees or other participants or any other
individual or entity responsible for it.
10. Governing law/disputes
By entering the Contest, participants agree that any and all
disputes shall be governed by the law of the Republic of
India, and the courts of Hyderabad/ Ranga Reddy District,
Andhra Pradesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction to the
extent permitted by law.
As used in this document, Deloitte means Deloitte &
Touche Assurance & Enterprise Risk Services India Private
Limited, Deloitte Consulting India Private Limited, Deloitte
Financial Advisory Services India Private Limited, Deloitte
Tax Services India Private Limited and Deloitte Support
Services India Private Limited.
