Park announces 'Summer season of


arts'

The Royal Landscape, Windsor Great Park, is delighted to announce 'The Summer Season
of Arts' with an exciting programme of outdoor performances throughout the summer of
2011. With two opera performances, family theatre with Wind in the Willows and three
plays, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the beautiful setting of The Savill Garden.
The season begins with two special nights of opera performed by Opera
Novella in a seated marquee on The Lawns in The Savill Garden. On
Friday 24 June, the company will provide a fun evening of opera
highlights, with some familiar and some new music to enjoy. On
Saturday 25 June, Opera Novella will bring Verdi's masterpiece Rigoletto
to The Savill Garden. The production will be performed in English by a
small cast and chamber orchestra.
The ticket price is 30 per person for each event. Tickets can be
purchased now for the opera either by calling 01784 435 544 or by
visiting The Savill Garden reception. (Tickets are not available for
purchase on the evening of the performances).
Ticket holders will be able to enjoy the special privilege of bringing a
picnic into certain areas of The Savill Garden before each performance
begins. Opera Novella's principal artists and a live instrumental
ensemble will take to the stage at 7.30pm.
Cambridge Touring Theatre take a merry romp through the world of the
river bank with their wonderful adaptation of Wind in the Willows on
Friday 1 July. This production lasts two hours with a twenty minute
interval and is suitable for the whole family, with lots of jokes, fun for all,
audience participation, songs and dances.
The performance begins at 6.30pm and gates open at 6pm. There is
also the treat of being able to picnic from 6pm on The Lawns.
Tickets are 12 per adult; children (under 16) / seniors / students 8; and
a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) is 35. Tickets are available from

Look out for the ever popular Chapterhouse Theatre Company which will
be returning to The Savill Garden from 18-20 August to perform three
plays -Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Taming of
the Shrew, together with Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility.
