English is difficult lesson for some students in Indonesia.
It is because English has totally
different vocabulary and pronunciation from Indonesian language. Actually, there are several ways to learn English easily. One of the ways is by watching English movies. In fact, there are several advantages of watching English movies in increasing English skills for students such as increasing vocabulary, pronunciation, and listening skills.
The first advantage of watching English movies for students is improving the ability of students in vocabulary skill. It is because English movies in Indonesia usually have subtitles in Indonesian language. Firstly, students stand a chance of hearing all the vocabulary students know. When the students do not understand meaning of one word, students can see the meaning in the subtitle. As the result, the familiarly used words category in students brain will increase.
The second advantage that students will get by watching English movies is students will be better in pronouncing words in English. It is because when watching an English movie, students will hear the true pronunciation of a word from actors or actress. After hearing the true pronunciation of a word, students can practice by imitating the spoken of actors or actress. From that, students can improve their ability in pronunciation.
When watching English movies students usually will hear the actors and actress spoken English in different accent, tone, and style. It means students can be stumped by someone saying the same things, but with a different accent, or tone. It is the third advantage of watching English movies for students. On English movies, students get to hear a huge variety of regional accents, which after a time, almost automatically raises students ability to comprehend language when it is spoken by someone whose accent is unfamiliar. With the result, student will be better in listening skills.
In simple terms, by watching English movies, students will remember the words more easily and thus be able to recognize it when it is spoken and probably be able to use it correctly too. It means it can help students in increasing their ability in vocabulary, pronunciation and listening skills so students will be better in their English lesson.
SOCIAL NETWORK BECOME A LIFESTYLE Dont you think, that all of creatures in this world need communication for them life? Dont you think, that network is the most important thing that we get from a communication? People, animal, and plant are need communication to connect each other and for their interaction which make some social media become a lifestyle, such as email, blog, facebook and twitter. Then I will tell you about that with my style. In this era, people never forget them cell phone to get more interaction with other. But cell phone has a limited function, its only can make a call and send short message with 160 until 1000 character. Its simple but so limited. Then we think that we need a media to connect other in other region which so far without wasting time to go there first. Years ago, people send a mail need many times until the receiver get it! But now, everything can send with several minute with electronic mail. Electronic mail or e-mail is one method to send a digital message or more from author. But its need Internet Connection to get it work. But it was not a big problem in this century; almost all people in this world use an internet to work. Back to email, like a mail email has three components the message envelopes, message header and message body. We can manage how many recipient addresses and add a subject what your messages talking about. We have a lot of utilities from email, today several companies or industries use email to receive an application from who want to get a job there. It is a simple method in this century and internet is one of necessary person to work, then email has lot utilities which useful in people activities. Next, I will tell you about blog or I suggest you can call it mini web site. Blog is personal site which serve many information about everything like education, news, etc. In this site, person who has an account can add some article which can publish. Blog is free so everyone who have blog dont have their domain like [dot]com , [dot]us , [dot]org etc. To make a blog you have an email account, then you can sign up to site which serve a facilities to create a blog like blogger, wordpress etc. Some user of blog have many article they have been written, you can type keyword of something youve search in the search engine then you can find many blog which related to your keyword. Its internet utilities and blog serve many information from someone. But theres no guarantee that their article can be responsible. At least you have some reference from their blog. So, blog is one media which serve some information in internet. After we know about email and blog, I will tell you about facebook, website which creates by Mark Zuckerberg on 2004. And now the users of facebook are more than 800millions people. Awesome, that facebook can connect people in different city or country. People who become your friends on facebook also know what are you doing or feeling when you update your status. They will know where you school, your family, your hobby etc. It was fun; you can play online games too. In many media social in virtual world, not many sites serve some application that we can play. Its like made own world! In this century when internet becomes a main necessary sometimes people dismiss text message via cell phone. They also give some information or make an appointment via facebook. Otherwise, we have twitter which more simple and more private then facebook. Twitter is media social which users can send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters known as tweets. It was created by Jack Dorsey on March 2006. Its different with facebook, on twitter theres no application. Its only can upload photo and post a tweet not over 140 characters. If you want to see others users timeline you only can follow them, you have no requirement to approve their request. Its more simple then facebook! Now the users are more then 300millions people. Like on facebook, some people use twitter too give some information, because now people are often use internet and open social media site. Look thats fact that almost all people in this world use internet to complete their necessary. So, I think that internet especially email, facebook, blog and twitter are become a lifestyle. Thats why this essay I made, because of social media online which become a lifestyle. (*venn)
For the politicians, social media has become a means to connect directly with their constituents, bypassing filters such as party managers and media experts. Politicians like Narendra Modi and Sashi Tharoor recognized this early on. They embraced the medium through Facebook, tweets and blogs, and now have a huge base of followers. But this is a double-edged sword as it also opens them up for direct and intense scrutiny, which demolishes the mystique that a distant, silent approach often fosters. That is perhaps the reason why people like Rahul Gandhi avoid twitter. Besides, in an egalitarian and un-moderated exchange, discourse can get uncivil, and each potential blooper can get scrutinized and magnified, as Mr.Tharoor and others have found out to their chagrin. However, the potential benefits of being able to influence opinion clearly seem to outweigh the negatives. The Bharatiya Janta Party entered the social media fray first. Then the Congress reportedly earmarked a war chest of Rs.100 crores(Read here), and set up a 35-member team to counter anti- congress propaganda. (Read here) Their general secretary Digvijaya Singh articulated the reason when he said, We need a system to spot trends (on social media) and respond to them so that the views of the opposition do not influence the people. For new political entrants, there was an added benefit. As Prashant Bhushan from the Aam Aadmi Party stated in the Hindu, Internet and social media not only enhances accountability, democratizes communication but also allows new political formations such as ours, to leapfrog the support base, in the absence of traditional cadres The embracing of social media has partly been brought about by the failure to control the medium. Mr. Kapil Sibals attempts (which he now denies) have been systematically exposed, and article 66A of the Information Technology act has been widely derided in most circles. Impact on the mainstream media (MSM) The mainstream media possibly considers social media as the proverbial thorn in their side. Earlier, their battles for viewership and readership were fought with other MSM competitors. Now they have to contend with an upstart, rebellious, irreverent entrant on the block that gets too much attention. For example, political rallies that hitherto had special media enclosures now have them for social media people too. Conferences and major events are covered via live tweets. This gradual change has come about because platforms like Twitter are now a virtual media channel in their own right. Twitter often provides breaking news of events across the world, bloggers provide in-depth coverage of many issues, and the subsequent generation of critical mass forces discussions that are often inconvenient for the mainstream media. In addition to setting discussion trends, the social media is also increasingly becoming a media watchdog in the absence of powerful, credible alternatives. It exposes scams and inconsistencies, which are overlooked, underplayed or hidden by the MSM due to its various compulsions. Some examples include the Radiagate scandal, and the unsavory video clip involving Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi, which the MSM had ignored till social media forced them into public domain(Read here). The seemingly partisan approach of some key MSM players has undermined their credibility, and increased the appeal of social media as an alternative source of information. Impact on the public Social media has given voice to the common man. It is now a platform for a regular person to discuss issues, vent, demand accountability and get information. Opinion and news is no longer the privee of the old media or the intellectual elite. In addition, social media is now a vehicle to co-ordinate movements such as the Arab spring protests and Shahbag uprising, as it allows people to bypass conventional government controls. This has empowered people like never before. In response, the government has tried a confused approach of muzzling and embracing the medium, while the mainstream media has tried to undermine its impact. The old media has criticized the new opinion makers on the grounds that there is too much ill-informed noise, which trivializes discourse; a lack of accountability which effects veracity of news; and too much discussion on policy issues that make it difficult for the elected representatives to do their job. This article will not delve into the merits of these criticisms, as that will open a whole new debate. Impact on votes In the final analysis, it is clear that whether one likes it or not, social media is here to stay. Any change begins with information. When people have multiple means of accessing and sifting information, it allows them to make better choices, which is the basic essence of a democratic process. The next step is to express those choices through the ballot. In the real world in India, there has always been a class of well-connected, well- informed chatterati, who have discussed and debated issues ad infinitum. However, their passion has rarely translated into votes. Now it remains to be seen if social media will become the virtual, non-elite equivalent of the living room intellectuals, or if they will actually put their money where their mouth is. Also, if/when they do, will it be enough to override the caste, faith and region based considerations that govern Indian politics? These are the million dollar questions that remain to be answered

Posted by admin in Business | Comments Off The use of social media is growing at an astronomical rate. With Facebook floating on the stock exchange at a mind boggling $104 billion, many naysayers predict a bubble. However, there is no denying the power of social media and the impact that it can have on the business of marketing. Tactics Social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Pinterest represent a huge opportunity for businesses to grab the attention of customers while simultaneously building a brand image. There are plenty of tactics that businesses can employ to do this including the creation of brand profiles on social networks such as Facebook fan pages and creative advertising via branded podcasts and applications, also known as apps. Word of Mouth Social media platforms provide the perfect opportunity to take advantage of word of mouth and to see it spread. Social media is growing at its fastest rate in developing countries. People are connected on a global scale and casually participate in each others lives through online observation. Something as simple as Liking a brand on Facebook can spread virally very quickly throughout the various social media channels. It is worth noting that individuals trust the opinions of their peers far more than a glossy magazine advert. Millions of people review products and services directly via social media sites using video through Youtube, which in many cases is then shared and disseminated via various other social media websites. As a consequence, the public increasingly look to social media to find reviews on various products and services to help them to make buying decisions. As a result, companies can and do provide products to popular Youtube users to review for their subscribers as well as create their own branded Youtube channels with branded videos about their products. Communicating with Customers Companies may see the spread of negative reviews about their products or services as a bad thing, when they can use it to their advantage. By utilising social media effectively, companies can reach out to dissatisfied customers directly, within their own social media environment, to find innovative ways of improving the product or service they have on offer. Influence When creating a social media marketing strategy, it is worth thinking very carefully about who is being targeted. There will be people within your social networks who may not necessarily be customers, but who nevertheless can have a massive impact on your marketing efforts. Forrester Analyst Augie Ray broke the various types of social media influencers into three distinct categories: Social Broadcasters (at the top) Mass Influencers (middle) Potential Influencers (bottom of the pyramid) More than 80 per cent of that population is made up of potential influencers. It is worth making the effort to identify who these people are in your network and connect with them to attract shares and likes which ultimately help to spread your brand name. One website which is excellent for identifying these people is Klout. Klout gives social networkers a score out of 100 which indicates how influential an individual is over their network while also identifying who the broadcasters and influencers are within that network. Considerations Social media has had and is continuing to have a huge influence on business, marketing and on how businesses engage with their target market. The use of social media to share and engage with others continues to grow at an astounding rate, so it would be wise for any business to develop and implement a sustainable social media strategy in order to successfully take advantage of this rapidly changing environment.
