5.

Time to create your presentation: Due: September 24 (end of class)


Look at the rubric for the criteria for what needs included in your Prezi or Google Presentation (NO POWERPOINT). This is a
5-minute presentation to the class. Consider what will be of interest to them, but also this is a time for self-
evaluation and reflection. Be realistic and use this as an opportunity to tailor an assignment to your own needs.
Include in the presentation what will be of use to you in the coming year.
You must have: 1. CLAIM: YOUR CHOSEN PATH IS YOUR CLAIM (WHAT YOU WILL ARGUE IS BEST FOR YOU).
2. EVIDENCE: PROVIDE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT YOUR CLAIM, INCLUDING:
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: based on the self-assessments as well as your interview, and
steps taken toward graduation, college, career, military. Include the results you received from your online
assessment in Ohio Means Jobs, your steps for getting into college or the military and In-text citations.
Training/School/Process to Acquire Job: Why is this path right for you? Which
school/branch is right for your chosen career path? Why?What edge do you have over others in the
same field? Include in-text citation
RESEARCH ABOUT YOUR CHOSEN JOB. What information did you learn that may also be
convincing that this is the right path for you? Include in-text citations from Ohio Means Jobs, Careers in
the Military and maybe your future endeavor interview.
3. TWO-THREE COUNTERARGUMENTS WITH EVIDENCE: WHAT OBJECTIONS CAN YOU THINK OF, THAT OTHERS IN YOUR LIFE
MAY BRING UP, OR EVEN A TEACHER, COUNSELOR, ETC. MAY SEE AS POTENTIAL FLAWS IN YOUR PLAN? AGAIN, CONSIDER ALL OF
THE ABOVE ASPECTS: PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS, TRAINING/SCHOOL/ETC, AND OTHER CAREER OPTIONS YOU RESEARCHED TO
SHOW SOME POTENTIAL, REASONABLE OBJECTIONS TO YOUR CLAIM. INCLUDE IN-TEXT CITATIONS WITH YOUR EVIDENCE.
4. REBUTTAL: RESPOND TO EACH COUNTEARGUMENT.

5. CONCLUSION: WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM THE PROCESS OF RESEARCHING AND LEARNING MORE ABOUT YOURSELF.
6. WORKS CITED SLIDE: Proper MLA format with at least three sources.

Practice your presentation using the criteria given for public speaking. Have a classmate and family member evaluate you
with the rubric. All students should be prepared beginning on: (Due date) _September 25th_ to deliver
