1. POLICY
As a matter of policy, overtime work is allowed only in emergency cases or when
business expediency demands that overtime services be rendered. No employee shall
slow down or accumulate work unnecessarily in order to have an excuse to render
overtime work. Work on rest days or holidays is banned except in cases of extreme
urgency where the work cannot be postponed without endangering human lives, or
property, or causing great damage to the bank.
2. OVERTIME WORK
Overtime work means authorized work rendered in excess of eight (8) regular hours in -
any 24-hour period. Although regular working hours is 7.5 hours, overtime services and
payment thereof shall be computed from and after the lapse of eight hours.
3. OVERTIME PERMIT
Since overtime work must be strictly controlled, overtime work shall be undertaken only
upon prior written authorization by the department head or branch manager concerned, on
CBC Form NO. 6.
4. TIME KEEPING
In addition to obtaining the overtime authorization employees rendering overtime shall record
their overtime work by timing in and out through their bundy clock card as in regular time.
Overtime compensation shall not be paid an employee unless his actual overtime work is
covered by a prior written authorization and unless his time is registered in this time card or
sheet. In the case of overtime work performed outside of duty station, the overtime work must
be duly certified in writing by the Department Head or Branch Manager concerned.
5. COMPUTATION OF OVERTIME
a. The computation of basic rate per hour, for overtime purposes for the duration of the
present Collective Bargaining Agreement (1980-1983), shall be as follows:

b. Premium Pay - All employees who render authorized work on Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays shall be paid overtime compensation for at least four (4) hours even if the work
performed does not exceed four (4) hours.
If the work requires only one hour or less to finish during Saturdays, restdays, and holidays,
but must be permitted just the same in view of its emergency nature, such work shall be
authorized to commence more two (2) hours before any prescribed meal period.
c. These rules shall apply to contractual and probationary employees.
6. MEAL PERIOD & NOON BREAKS
Employees rendering overtime shall observe the usual meal time or noon breaks. Unworked
meal periods are not compensable.
7. In order not to adversely affect the health of the employees, overtime shall not extend beyond
midnight except in extremely urgent cases. Furthermore, no woman employee may be allowed
to work beyond 10:00 p.m.
8. Employees Attending Bank-Sponsored Seminars
Employees who are directed by the bank to attend seminars after office hours or during
Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays shall be entitled to an overtime compensation subject to the
rules on overtime. However, employees who shall attend such seminars on their own request or
volition, are not entitled to overtime compensation for such attendance.
