THE OWNER
JAGJIT PARMAR.
Q.What motivated you to start this company?
A desire to excel in life, to do something and to be
known for. this company had been started by my
father and we have taken it to a new level or a
higher level after I joined it and my desire is to make
it even more bigger.

Q.What is your business plan/strategy ahead?
We are essentially a logistic company and deal with
petroleum product so my strategy is to be in the top 3
companies in the country as soon as possible, next
year or maybe the year after that.

Q.How did u come up with this plan? What made you
think to go top 3?
The experience of being in the field from the last 56
years and B. Again the desire to excel. You should
have an ambition. Like Dhiru bhai Ambani said-
"Only if you dream big, will you grow big. He was a
boy who used to fill fuel in South Africa and he
dreamt big. You always have to dream big and work
towards it and then you achieve things.

Q.What sort of motivational techniques you use for your
employees?
We have regular sessions of talks, we have reward
system for good performance, we advertise that, we
take photographs and put it and let the other
employees know that in this month or in this quarter
this particular employee has done well so that there
is a desire in part of the other employees to do that
and achieve that.

Q.Share a situation where you had to deal with the
difficult situation or a person. How do u go about it?
There has been a lot of situations like that as we deal
in a business that has to deal with drivers and there
are all sort of different characters, there are good, the
bad and the ugly also. so initially we try to explain to
them console them and counsel them, the correct
word is counselling, there is a punishment system
also which follows the counselling. if you find
improvement with those cases then fine or beyond
that then there is suspension, termination in some
cases.

Q.Has the business faced any low points?
We are very conservative in nature so our
expansionary plans are based on these strategies and
touch wood we have not faced any such situation.
Basically its risk management.

Q.Have you faced a manager-employee conflict?
At times yes and one of the most common issue is the
remuneration package. The employees would always
want to have more and the bottom line is that they
are never satisfied with the bonus or remuneration or
salary.

Q.What according to you is the uniqueness of this
company?
Its the customer service that we provide, its matching
the customer requirements and service levels.

Q.What sort of customer services do you provide?
That depends on the customer requirements and
needs. We ask what they need and work towards it.
specific general requirements- right quality, right
time, right quantity, different sets of parameters
which are followed by them globally and we try to
do that in India.

Q.Where do you see Parmar transportations in the next 5
years?
Top 3 in the next 1-2 years and probably the 1st in the
next 5 years.

Q.What according to you has changed in you or your
behavior with family, friends, employees?
With the employees the relationship is more or less
professional, with family yes there is discontent in
the family because the amount of time we spend here
is more. Discontent grows that side in the family and
content grows this side as we work
