Definition
Birth control pills are contraceptive birth control or prevention of conception is used
by way of oral per-oral/contraceptive. Birth control pills are one of the many types of
contraception used. Pill is preferred because it is relatively easy to obtain and use, and low
cost (Saifuddin, 2006).
Birth control pills or oral contraceptives pill is a hormonal contraceptive medication
in pill form that is inserted through the mouth (drunk), and contains the hormones estrogen or
progesterone. aims for birth control or prevent pregnancy by inhibiting the release of eggs
from the ovaries each month. Birth control pills are effective and safe when used correctly
and consistently (Sastrawinata, 2000).
Type of contraceptive pill types:
1. Pill combination
Each pill contains two hormones synthesis, namely estrogen and progestin
hirmon. The combined pill contains both the benefits of the workings of hormones
that prevent pregnancy, and nearly 100 percent effective.
2. Minipill
This pill contains a small dose of progestin materials synthesis and properties
of birth control, especially with the changing of the mucous of the cervix (cervical

4. How to use.

j. Advise patients to use condoms or a spermicide in addition to wearing the
mini pill if it is likely infected with sexually transmitted diseases (including
hepatitis and HIV / AIDS) or forget to take a pill.
