Language Comprehension Section

As mentioned above it comprises of 25 questions and within the section
Critical reasoning is a key area. Hence it is advised to go through the
basic concepts of critical reasoning, a conceptual revision especially in
areas such as fact-judgement-inference based questions and Identifying
the best option based on the argument presented passage. Other key
areas are reading comprehension, sentence correction and vocabulary.

In February 2014, CMAT, the section was quite easy with most
questions from RC and Critical reasoning . There were about 11
question from the passages, which were small and easy to comprehend.
The questions were of the following types:
Discussing the main idea of the passage
Tone of the author
Title of the passage

In Critical Reasoning area, the questions were based on argument

elements such as which option supports the argument/weakens the
argument, what could be implied from passage, which argument
concludes the passage correctly. Other important areas were FIJ,
Sentence completion, Synonyms and Antonyms.

Logical Reasoning Section

For this section, one must focus on topics like linear arrangement,
circular arrangement, selections , distribution puzzles, comparisons,
binary logic, cubes, Venn diagrams, deductions and connectives.You
may go through this article for quick tips on how to ace the section. As
quoted in leading newspaper (Hindustan times) Ramnath Kanakadandi,
course director, Triumphant Institute of Management Education, New
Delhi says that In LR, one needs to understand that sometimes data
may not be sufficient to figure out the complete solution, but would be
sufficient to answer the given question. One can also focus on other
sections such as number series, coding and decoding, symbols and
notations, blood relations, direction sense, input-output, calendars and
clocks.
