Bali is a wonderful and relaxing island that is located in the continent of Asia.

From all around the world, Bali attracts almost 1,000,000 visitors a year!! In
Bali, some people can speak English but the main language Balinese people
speak is Malayo
Polynesian.

and its capital city is
Denpasar. Bali is an
island that belongs to
Indonesia. The average
climate in Bali is 31 degrees average [year round] and Bali was founded in 1343
by Sri Kesari Warmadewa.

largest trade partner is Indonesia [Bali] and here are some
major exports: wheat, aluminium, copper,crude,gold and refined petroleum.
This island has beautiful waves for surfing, wonderful natural sites to explore
and artistic and colourful ceremonies!
FESTIVALS CELEBRATED IN BALI:
Bali has lots of religious festivals and here are some of them:
Odalan: Odalan signifies the anniversary of a temples founding and lasts up to
a couple of days to a week. The temples are beautifully decorated with
flowers, palm leaves, bamboo towers and flags and food offerings.
Galungan: Galungan is noticed in the eleventh week of the 210

Balinese calendar and this festival celebrates the creation of our world. The

day will be spent with locals visiting family, friends and neighbours and they
will have big feasts!
HISTORY:
It is certain that Bali has been populated
since the early ancient times. In 1850, the
Dutch had arrived at Bali and had taken
over. Then in 1900, Dutch troops came and
Bali was completely taken over by them.
After the Japanese occupation in the
second world war from 1939-1945, Bali had
become a-part of Indonesia but was still able to keep its own unique culture.
CULTURAL:
Culture is a big thing in Bali and they have heaps of delicious traditional food.
Some of them are Lawar, Sate [satey], Babi Guling, and Nasi Kunning Bali. The
main ingredients that are in Lawar are mixed vegetable, meat and spices. The
main ingredients in sate are minced pork or chicken and the main ingredients
for Babi Guling is roast pork and a few spices. Last but not least the main
ingredients in Nasi Kunning is yellow rice and meat.
The language Balinese people speak is Malayo Polynesian and the main
religion they have is Hindu Dharma and Buddhism. Balis genuine beauty and
unique culture has made itself more than just a normal tourist destination!
TOURISM:
Bali is a very exciting destination for those who love hot and sunny weather,
tropical beaches, helpful and friendly people, great places to surf and cheap
things to buy. Bali has lots of interesting and fun tourist attractions such as
Ubud, waterbom Bali, Kuta and Nusa Dua. Mostly Australian tourists go to Bali
because there are very cheap items, and great relaxing beaches. Bali is very
rich in culture and the food they have is amazing!
But some negatives about Bali is that there are no public transport, some
things are more difficult, the food in the supermarket are expensive, and the
health care isnt so great. But either than that, Bali is a great destination to go
to!
HEALTH AND SECURITY:
Bali is a great tourist destination and is a fairly safe location to go to. In the
past, terrorists sometimes targeted resorts, hotels and other venues but there
has been no major incidents in Bali for more than 5 years.
In Bali education can be bad [low standards] but Bali has grown in the recent
years. They also teach English is the schools so that the children can learn
some Basic English skills. As Indonesia has education, it also has a literacy rate.
If you are male, the literacy rate you will have is 75.5% and if you are a female,
your literacy rate would be 71.1%.
In Bali the infant mortality rate is 26 Indonesians out of 1000 die each year.
Compared to Australia where 4 Australians die each year.
Overall, Indonesia is developing to be a safer and educated country.
