Professional Development Activity #1: Gathering, Analysis, and Use of Data from a Variety of Sources
Rationale: Through my week 3 assignment, it became clear that Forest Lane Academy is unclear of what the Texas STaR Chart,
how the data is used and can be used. Teachers’ lack of knowledge also effects their feedback that they give to the STaR chart, since
they have no idea what the questions they are answering mean or have to do with their school.

Learning Objective to Be Addressed: Teachers will learn about the Texas STaR (School Technology and Readiness) Chart, what
the data means, and how knowing the data can help guide their instruction.

Professional Development Activity #2: Integration of Technology with Instructional and Organizational Leadership
Rationale: Based on information I gathered through my week 3 interviews, teachers want to provide for technology activities in the
classroom but are not sure how. Class blogs (either on the internet or just on the school’s shared drive) could be a great starting point
and a way for students to collaborate across grade levels and learn together how to experiment with different types of technology.

Learning Objective to Be Addressed: Teachers will learn how to teach students to create class blogs (via internet, shared drive on
campus or district’s intranet) and collaborate through blogs on various topics among all grade levels within the school.

Materials Needed for Meeting: Teachers will need to bring their computer in order to participate in this professional development.

Professional Development Activity #3: Integration of Technology with Instructional and Organizational Leadership
Rationale: If teachers are going to ask their students to participate in collaborative discussions on their own blogs, they should begin
practicing this form of communication with their own colleagues. The discussion forum for teachers will also be beneficial to teachers
for clarification on topics they have questions about and/or post general questions they have for other teachers or the principal.

Learning Objective to Be Addressed: Teachers will practice communicating and discussing new information learned from most
recent staff meetings through school based discussion forums.

Evaluation Planning for Action Plan:

This evaluation for the action plan will be an ongoing process. Forest Lane Academy will create a Technology Action Team at the beginning of the
school year will be created to monitor the school’s progress in implementing our action plan. Based on the information I gathered from my week
3 assignment, I discovered that teachers are not held accountable for implementing technology in the classroom. This team will be in charge of
holding teachers accountable for implementing technology in their classrooms based on the district Long Range Plan for Technology. They will
use the following data to aid in the evaluation process:
