layer. The adjacent cell layer definition can be used! for eample! in umbrella and
power budget handovers in defining the target cells according to their layer.

adjacent cell for the #irected $etry procedure. If the signal strength level in the
cell is lower than this threshold value! adjacent cell is not accepted as a

- With this parameter you define the optimum uplin% $& signal level after a
handover on a channel in the adjacent cell. If optimisation is enabled! the
parameter indicates also the desirable uplin% signal level after the handover. The
optimisation procedure wor%s only for intra'(S) handovers. The (S) presumes
that the uplin% signal level and the downlin% signal level are in balance within the
coverage area of the adjacent cell. If the downlin% signal is! for eample! * d(
stronger than the uplin% signal! set the value for this parameter *d( higher than
the desirable uplin% signal level)
