Ecological consequences of current policies and practises in various parts of the world.
Introduction
The environment is the most fundamental resource endowment on the earth. It is a
collective responsibility of humanity to ensure that the environment around them is ept safe
and preserved for future generations. Conservation of the environment is not the function of
leaders and organi!ations" but the responsibility for every individual who e#ists because no
one can e#ist without the environment $%ates" p.&1'. It is uncouth" funny and uncalled to
persuade as if they do not now the importance of the environment and" therefore" the need
to conserve it.
The main problem of the current human beings is the moderni!ation. The great grave
danger is the capital maret growth and development. (eople have incorporated annuiti!ation
that is caused by the short term maturity t be reached by the progressively increasing pay out.
The results are terrible" rising capital production" marets" consumption" and surplus of
economic products. )owever" apart from all this there is the ey natural resources that are
needed for capital investment and efficient use of the forests. The resources include land"
water" forests" and marine fisheries. The problem with the current systems is that they have
overe#ploited the e#isting resources and depleted the forests and other natural resources.
There is the continual shrining in the si!es of the natural resources" as the human
beings continue to shrin the e#sting resources. (olicies that govern the management and
conservation of the natural resources have been reclessly handled and some are even non*

e#istent. This absence is one of the causes of the mismanagement and careless handling of the
natural resources endowed.
(olicies and ecological consequences
The federal government sets policies through the houses governing the environment.
The regulations that concern with the environment. (olicies are set and established through
the ministry and then implemented through the very ministry. The policies that are set up
sometimes are not in line with the management and conservation of the environment and"
therefore" affect the e#istence of the biodiversity $)olland" p.11+'. The fauna and the flora of
the environment have to be protected for ecological balance between the human beings and
the other living things.
(olicies on the use of the environment lie logging of trees are poorly managed. They
don,t favour good e#istence of the environment" rather the regulations favour other factors
that are against the environment. -lthough other states have good policies concerning the
cutting of trees as Canada" they still e#perience other problems associated with the cutting of
trees and the general environment at large. Some policies lie cut one and plant two is a good
and productive type that will ever mae the number of e#isting trees increase and flourish.
The misplaced priorities and poor policies governing the cutting of trees and forests
without practising afforestation and reforestation have led to massive destruction of trees and
their environment. The animals that stay in the forest and as their ecological niche have been
illed and their population reduced. - great imbalance e#ists in the earth due to destruction of
the environment.
-dditionally" global warming is on the rise because of massive destruction of the
environment. .educed plantation and coverage of forests have led to the e#cessive
accumulation of carbon dio#ide that acts as a blanet that causes heating of the atmosphere

from below. 0loods are a result of global warming $1ones" p.+/'. The melting of the ice at the
(olar .egions causes increase in the levels of seas and oceans and this eventually leads to
flooding.
(olicies on setting up of industries and other plants have had also negative
implications on the environment. Industries release much smoe to the atmosphere and part
of the emissions is the gases that accumulate in the atmosphere to cause overheating of the
atmosphere. Eventually" gradual increase in the levels of the gases in the atmosphere leads to
global warming. The warming up of the atmosphere has both effects on the flora and fauna
and their coe#istence in the ecosystem.
2ore so" policies on the release of the waste material into the system of rivers and
waters is had also had a great danger and effect on the biodiversity. The composition of the
chemicals have effects on the aquatic life in the waters. The release leads to increased
composition of chemicals that ill the animals in the water. The released waste also has a
greater p) that causes a change in water p). -quatic plants" therefore" as a result of the
acidity results to dehydration of the plants that wither and die.
2anagement and conservation of the environment of recent has not done well.
3elayed implementation of the policies and regulations have been the main cause for the
misuse of the environment. (roper management and oversight roles of the states have not
been fully accomplished $Shi" p.&4'. Negligence of the environment has affected the
ecosystem and destructed it. The remaining flora and fauna are at a state verge of e#tinction
because of highly destructed environment.
Conclusion
Surname 4
Clear roles concerning management and conservation need to be set up" implemented
and the state should tae its oversight role towards increasing awareness through the media of
the need to conserve the environment in order to protect our biodiversity.
