The Numbers of the Words

by Craig Wm. Peters

The Shema:
The Testimony of eSwhy the Messiah

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me,
See that you do it not: I am your fellow servant, and of your
brothers that have the Testimony of eSwhy : Worship Elohim:
for the Testimony of eSwhy is the Spirit of prophecy.
Revelation 19:10

a Giving nearly total attention to the phrase, the Spirit of prophecy, many have
made much of the text seen just above. And these words certainly do contain
much in the way of instruction. Yet the Spirit of prophecy has been attributed to
the supposedly infallible writings of certain persons (religious leaders) while still
others allege this Spirit only abides within a certain organization (theirs, of
course). But the the Spirit of prophecy belongs to hwhy
1
not to any
organizationand His is the power
2
to place the Shekinah Splendor upon and
within those who obey Him.
3
And in the present study, we will see much
significant and edifying evidence that the Spirit of Prophecy is directly connected
to The Shemawhat the Messiah called the Greatest Commandment in all of the
Torah.

This study also addresses another significant topic. There is, in our days, an
erroneous teaching that purports the Name of hwhy is too holy to be pronounced.
Ironically, this teaching comes forth from many Jewish sectors, despite the Torah
record which shows the patriarch Abrahamalong with Mosheh, David, and all
the prophetsspoke forth the Name of hwhy. This manuscript will further show
the error of that teaching. The apostles of the Lamb proclaimed that Elohim gives
His Spirit to those who obey Him,
4
and we will be amazed to see the impartation of
Ruach haQodesh
5
that comes to those who give utterance to The Shema (which
includes speaking forth/pronouncing the Qadosh Name) as they seek hwhy and
uphold the Torah.
6
To our awe and amazement, this impartation of the Spirit is
actually revealed within The Shema itself. We will see The Shema is the beginning
love-faith expression which leads to yet greater love-derived obedience and that, as
Elohim did with the Hebrew prophets of old, the Spirit of hwhy, the Light bearing

Shekinah Splendor dwells over these words, opening the ears and the eyes of those
who are ready to hear and obey. The result is not only wisdom and insight into the
Torah, but prophetic visions into those things which are yet to come.

And not only is it important for believers to reverently speak forth the Name of
hwhy, but we will also confirm the all-pervasive importance of The Shemathe
commandment by which eSwhy the Messiah taught us to love hwhy as we uphold
the Eternal precepts embodied in the Age-Abiding Torah. This Torah is the age-
enduring Word which hwhy has commanded across the many eons of time it will
still take before the 1000 generations prophesied
7
in the timetable of the Most High
are completely fulfilled in the history of mankind.

The Shema:
The Greatest Commandment and the Testimony of eSwhy
In other studies, we have seen how the Messiah of Yisrael set forth The Shema as
the greatest, most preeminent commandment in all of the Torah.
8
We will review
that topic for those newly joining the topic. In Hebrew, the word emS/shema
means hear, but in certain contexts, this word means to hear and obey. That
this is the case will be seen in a number of places within the Torah. The first we
ponder is a word which was spoken by hwhy over the life of our forefather,
Abraham. When Abraham heard the Voice of hwhy, he also upheld/kept the
commandments, statutes, and Torah of El Shaddai:

Because that Abraham obeyed (emS/shema/heard)
My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments,
My statutes, and My laws. Breshit/Genesis 26:5
9

Abraham heard the Voice of the Spirit and he obeyed hwhy. And what was the
result of the patriarchs faith? Through love-driven faith, Abraham upheld the
Torah, even as we see in the above-cited text. hwhy would later require, through
Mosheh (Moses), a certain obedience of Pharaoh; and the path mandated to the
king of Egypt was that he must let Yisrael be released from their centuries of
bondage. As we read the texts provided, note that the ruler of Egypt physically
heard the words and warnings of Mosheh, however, Pharaoh refused to hear/obey:

And Pharaoh said, Who is hwhy, that I should
obey (emS/shema/hear) His voice to let Yisrael go?
I know not hwhy, neither will I let Yisrael go.
Shemot/Exodus 5:2

7
Deuteronomy 7:9, Psalm 105:8, Matthew 5:17-20
8
For one of those studies, see The Messiah Teaches the Shema:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/117823543/The-Messiah-Teaches-the-Shema

9
(and so with Genesis 27:43 and 28:7)
3
So it was with the children of Yisrael; they heard what Mosheh said when he
spoke, but when all was said and done, they ultimately did not hear/listen/obey:

And Mosheh spoke before hwhy, saying, Behold, the children of
Yisrael have not hearkened (emS/shema/hear) to me; how, then, shall
Pharaoh hear (emS/shema/hear) me, who am of uncircumcised lips?
Shemot/Exodus 6:12
10

Of course, this was just their initial reaction; the children of Yisrael did eventually
hear, believe, and obey. And within this same time period, hwhy actually warned
Mosheh that Pharaoh would not hear/obey:

But Pharaoh shall not hearken (emS/shema/hear) to you,
that I may lay My hand upon Egypt, and bring forth My armies,
and My people, the children of Yisrael, out of the
land of Egypt by great judgments.
Shemot/Exodus 7:4

And so Pharaoh heard, but he did not truly hear/obey:

13 And he hardened Pharaohs heart, that he
hearkened (emS/shema/hear) not unto them; as hwhy had said
16 And you shall say to him, hwhy Elohim of the Hebrews has sent
me to you, saying, Let My people go, that they may serve
me in the wilderness: and, behold, heretofore,
you would not hear (emS/shema/hear).
Shemot/Exodus 7:13, 16
11

Yet, above all things, hwhy desires for His people to hear and obey His Voice:

25 And he cried to hwhy, and hwhy showed him a tree,
and he cast it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet.
There He made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there He
proved them. 26 And He said, If you will diligently (ewms) hearken (emst)
to the voice of hwhy your Elohim, and will do that which is right in His eyes,
and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes,
I will put none of the diseases upon you, which I have put
upon the Egyptians: for I am hwhy that heals you.
Shemot/Exodus 15:25-26

If you will diligently hearken (a phrase seen in verse 26) literally reads in the
Hebrew, If hearing, you will hear, or, If hearing, you hear. Both words are
rooted in the Hebrew word emS/shema. So these ponderings set the stage for us to
better understand The Shemawhat eSwhy taught as the Foremost Commandment

10
(likewise Exodus 6:30)
11
Also see the following: Exodus 7:22, 8:15,19, 9:12, 11:9
4
in all of the Torah. And it is set forth by eSwhy in this light
12
because truly
upholding the The Shema will result in the faith spoken of by both the Messiah and
the apostle Shaul: this is the love-driven faith which will result in a believer
upholding all the commandments of the Torah.

The Shema:
The Greatest Commandment

The Mashiach/Messiah was
14
the splendor of His people Yisrael and He was a
Light to enlighten the Gentiles in the Torah of hwhy.
15
And now that eSwhy has
walked among us as the Unblemished Lamb, that great Light from the Torah of
hwhy continues to shine forth upon us from the Spirit of the Mashiach in the
Heavens.
16
In this article, the Spirit reveals how our Mashiach/xySm
17
both
observed and taught the importance of all of the Torah on those many occasions
He spoke of and referred to The Shema. There were many instances in which
eSwhy taught His listeners the importance of this Greatest Commanda
commandment which has the most preeminence over and above all of the other
commandments in the Torah (since it embodies / encompasses all the rest). We
now ponder the time the Messiah set forth The Shema as the greatest
commandment in the entirety of Scripture. We have far more than one record of
the Messiah teaching us to uphold this Greatest and Most Preeminent
commandment in all of the Torah, but we begin by pondering His words on that
most obvious occasion. eSwhy the Messiah came to bring life and immortality to
light through the Good News,
18
and it is His words which reveal to us the
preeminent love for hwhy which He desires to be burning in the hearts of all of His
people:

And eswhy answered him, The first of all the commandments is:

Shema (Hear) Yisrael, hwhy is our Elohim,
hwhy is one: And you shall love hwhy your Elohim
with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind,
and with all your strength: this is the first commandment.
Mark 12:29-30

We may see and imply many things from these words of eswhy which He spoke on
this all-important matter:

12
1Timothy 1:10
13
Matthew 5:17-20, Romans 2:13, 3:31
14
(and still is!)
15
Luke 2:32, John 14:15, 15:10, Romans 2:13, 3:31
16
2Corinthians 3:12-18
17
Mashiach is the transliteration for the Hebrew word, xySm, the word meaning anointed and often translated
as Messiah.
18
1Timothy 1:10
5
1. Loving hwhy and putting Him first (above all else) is the preeminent
commandment. Absolutely nothing is more important, including our own lives.
19

2. With these words, the Messiah was clearly teaching and upholding the age-
abiding authority/perpetuity of all of the Torah. And His showing The Shema to be
the preeminent commandment of the Pentateuch
20
not only teaches us the ongoing
validity and immutability of the entire Torah across the immense time span of 1000
generations,
21
but it further indicates how every other commandment was intended
to be walked out in every day practice:

The Word of hwhy is to be upheld because of
a believers love for the Most High and his/her gratitude
for the great and enduring chesed/lovingkindness which
the Most High has bestowed by creating and
redeeming us in the Messiah.

And in relation to this all-important point, the general Christian world seems
painfully oblivious to the stark difference between obedience and legalism:

Upholding the Torah out of love for hwhy is a blessed
obedience that touches eternity, while attempting to keep His
commandments out of a heartless, religious obligation
a mere arid sense of dutycan only be legalism.

To reword what someone else has so wisely said:

Attempting to keep the Torah without the Spirit of love
is legalism. In contrast, the supposition one is walking in
the Spirit of loveall the while one is refusing to uphold
the commandments of the Torahis both
disobedience and self-deception.

And neither of these last-mentioned states will be acceptable for anyone who
aspires to inherit reward
22
and splendor
23
by entering the Millennium Kingdom of
hwhy at the First Resurrection:
24

A person will not attain to the classification
of those who overcomethe classification of called,
chosen, and faithful
25
apart from having upheld
the Torah of the Messiah in the Spirit of love.
26

19
Daniel 3:8-28

Thus, in setting forth The Shema as absolutely preeminent, the Messiah teaches us
it is only through lovethe love which our hearts are directing towards hwhythat
we may uphold every other Torah commandment.

The Shema was set forth as the Preeminent Commandment,
the one of foremost importance, because walking in love will result
in believers truly keeping every other commandment of the Torah.

Somehow, people abide under the idea that mistakenly concludes true, authentic
love for hwhy abolishes the Torah; but such reasoning is a completely baseless and
unscriptural supposition:
27

Through the Shema, the Messiah taught that
true love for hwhy will result in us keeping His Torah
and its Ageless Decreesall of which are pulsating
with infinite wisdom,
28
with immense light,
29

and with enduring, life-giving love.
30

The secret of The Shema tells us it is only through love for the Most High that we
may keep the commandments of hwhy in a way that pleases Him. We must desire
to hear His Voice with fervent lovewith the advanced intention
31
of permanently
obeying whatever His Word says, reveals, and teaches:

Teach me, hwhy, the way of Your statutes,
and I will keep it to the end.
Psalm 119:33

I have not departed from Your judgments:
for You have taught me.
Psalm 119:102

I am Your servant; give me understanding,
that I may know Your testimonies.
Psalm 119:125

While the entire Shema composes the Foremost Commandment in the Torah, the
first six of its sixteen words will also be seen to set it forth as the Foremost
Testimony.

The Shema:

The Testimony of eswhy
We now ponder The Shema as the Testimony of eswhy. Notice from the
Hebrew words given below, the Masoretic text of Deuteronomy 6:4 shows the
ending letters of the first and last words of the manuscript were rendered by the
scribes to be considerably larger than the other letters in the text:
d
xa hwhy wnyhla hwhy larvy
e
ms
echad YHWH El ohenu YHWH Yi sr ael Shema
one/ f i r st YHWH ( i s) our YHWH I sr ael Hear
The AYIN (e) is enlarged at the end of ems /Shema and the DALET (d) is
enlarged at the end of dxa/echad. All the people of hwhy are honored with the
indescribable privilege of proclaiming The Shema, and those who do so are a
continual witness to the Unity and the Sovereign Supremacy of the Elohim of
Yisrael, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Because of this Unity, all things in
heaven and on earthwhether good or evil,
32
whether for His Kingdom or in
opposition to His Kingdom, whether for us or against us
33
all things are
ultimately unable to do anything except contribute towards the sovereign plans and
unstoppable purposes of the Eternal King, blessed be His Name.

In Hebrew, the word for testimony, or witness, is eyd (de), and (looking
above) readers will see that this is the word formed by the enlarged letters
appearing within The Shema:

74 = (4) d + (70) e = de = eyd = witness/testimony
One aspect of a testimony is that it gives partial expression and representation on
earth to that which is real and true in the Heavens. And in the Heavens, the Most
High is One/First: He is honored as the One who is over and above all, the
Preeminent and Sovereign Creatormighty in wonders and awesome in worship.
So those who utter The Shema are a continual testimony (de) for hwhy upon the
earth; they continually witness (de) to the power, greatness, and awesome nature
of the One who is forever enthroned on High above all things. His plans and
purposes will be established from generation to generation and His Kingdom will
reign forever.

So there is certainly evidence that The Shema is the Testimony of eswhy.

Mashiach/Messiah taught the first talmudim (disciples) of this commandments

great and perpetual importance because He knew that walking in love
35
would
result in them keeping all of the commandments of hwhy.
36

We will now move onward to consider the numbers (numerics) behind this
Preeminent Commandment and will then progress toward establishing how these
Inspired numbers show us the Testimony of eswhy is the Spirit of Prophecy.

t s r q u p e o n m l k y j x z w h d g b a

The Numerics of The Shema

As many will already know, the Hebrew letters also have number values. For those
still learning about these values, the number equivalents have been displayed in
charts at the very end of the present study.
37
The numbers below reflect the total
place value (in blue) and the total misparim value for each of the Hebrew words in
The Shema:

13/13 26/26 48/102 26/26 64/541 50/410

Speaking forth the Shema, by faith, is a significant part of setting apart hwhy
Elohim in our hearts. When proclaiming The Shema, we are setting our love upon
hwhy and exalting His Name, even as the Spirit has inspired to be written in the
Ninety-First Psalm:

35
Ephesians 5:1-2
36
Exodus 20:6, Deuteronomy 10:12-13, 19:9, John 14:15, 15:10, 1John 5:2-3, 2John 1:6
37
In this footnote, we provide an example showing how the total place value (pv) and the total misparim value (mv)
were calculated for the Hebrew word Shema:

(pv) 50 = (16) e + (13) m + (21) s = ems = Shema = Hear
(mv) 410 = (70) e + (40) m + (300) s = ems = Shema = Hear
Thus, readers will see the 50/410 placed above the Hebrew word ems in The Shema.
9
Because he has set his love upon Me,
38
therefore
will I deliver him: I will set him on high,
because he has known My Name.
39

Tehillim/Psalms 91:14

This also makes it clear that when Kepha (Peter) instructed the believers to set
apart hwhy Elohim in their hearts, he was teaching them to uphold The Shema and
their love for the Most High:

But set apart hwhy Elohim in your hearts,
and always be ready to give an answer to everyone
asking you a reason concerning the expectation that
is in you, with meekness and fear.
1Peter 3:15, ISRV

The Testimony of eSwhy is the Spirit of Prophecy

We have now seen how The Shema is the Testimony of eSwhy that proclaims the
Supreme Rule of hwhy Elohim. Yet we must also ponder how uttering the Greatest
of all commandments will potentially result in the Spirit of the Most High, the
Spirit of Prophecy, being imparted to those who are approaching the Throne of
Elohim with sincere love and faith unfeigned. We are in awe of His greatness as
the place value totals for the first five words will reveal a special impartation of the
Spirit of hwhy at the second utterance of His Set Apart Name:

13 26 48 26 64 50
dxa hwhy wnyhla hwhy larvy ems
echad YHWH El ohenu YHWH Yi sr ael Shema
( i s) one YHWH our El ohi m YHWH I sr ael Hear
227 214 188 140 114 50

Note, the running totals for place value are listed in purple under each word. This
is further displayed below:

50 = 50
50 + 64 = 114
50 + 64 + 26 = 140
50 + 64 + 26 + 48 = 188
50 + 64 + 26 + 48 + 26 = 214

With the second utterance of the Name, those speaking The Shema have progressed
to a special point of inviting the Spirit of the Most High to abide, to speak, and to

10
empower. How do we know this? It is revealed by the very numbers; the
misparim value for xwr/Ruach/Spirit is 214:

(mv) 214 = (13) x + (13) w + (13) r = xwr = Ruach/Spirit
The entrance/exaltation of the Shekinah Splendor, the Spirit (214) of Prophecy, at
the second utterance of the Name teaches us far more than this writer could ever
know or express. Even so, such a profoundly inspired result shows us significant
things to which some expression may be given:

1. Reverently speaking the Name of hwhy within The Shema is not only obedience,
but the Hebrew numbers reveal that doing so obviously invites a further, greater,
ongoing/continual impartation of His Spirit upon us. Thus, He gives His Spirit to
those who obey Him.
41

2. Being the Greatest Commandment in all of the Torah, as we might expect, the
Shekinah Splendor embodies and surrounds those who speak these set apart words
with faith and love.

Part of what hwhy has promised to restore to His people is a Pure Tongue, the
Hebrew Language.
42
That the utterance of The Shema (in Hebrew) leads to 214 (a
number which speaks of the Spirit) at the second mention of His blessed Name is
yet more evidence that hwhy will honor those who honor Him.
43
hwhy imparts the
Shekinah Splendor upon those who honor Him and the Language of Heaven; as
they speak His Hebrew word, they will be rewarded according to their faith.

We have now seen The Shema to be the Testimony of eSwhy and we have also
shown how the Spirit of Prophecy is clearly associated with this Greatest of all
commandments. This present study will end by confirming the close relationship
between The Shema, the Spirit of hwhy, and the prophets who have ears to hear and
eyes to see.
The Spirit of Vision and Prophecy:
hwhy Opens the Ears and the Eyes of the Prophets

hwhy opens the ears of the prophets to hear and He opens their eyes to see. This is
spiritual, prophetic hearing and it further results in prophetic vision that comes in
the Spirit. Yet prophetic hearing and vision are not given apart from our
submission to His Kingdom; prophets are willing participants in fulfilling the
TorahHis expressed sovereign will.
44
And speaking The Shema with faith and
love is the true expression of submission to the Eternal Kingdom. For those
walking with eSwhy, faith-love expressions based on The Shema will lead to the
anointing of the Spirit that results in having an increasing ability to hear and to see.

41
Acts 5:32
42
Zephaniah 3:8-9
43
1Samuel 2:30
44
See, for instance, 1Thessalonains 4:3 and Romans 2:18.
11
Hearing, seeing, and doing are the essence of The Shema. The Spirit reveals the
The Shema begins with hearing and sight/vision and it also ends in the very same
way. When eSwhy spoke to Nakdimon/Nicodemus, the Messiah indicated that, to
inherit reward and greatness in the world/age to come, a believer in the Elohim of
Yisrael must both see and enter the Kingdom; while both aspects of The Shema
will ultimately be fulfilled in those who are blessed to partake in the First
Resurrection, seeing and entering indicate a significant progression which must
officially begin during our earthly sojourn. Based on the words of the Messiah
Himself, it can be said The Shema is an indispensable part of this process:

1 But there was a man from among the Pharisees, his name
Nakdimon, a ruler of the Yahudim; 2 he came to Him by night,
and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You have come from
Elohim, a teacher, for none can do these signs that You do
unless Elohim is with him. 3 eSwhy answered and said to him,
Amein, amein, I say to you, unless any one is born from above
he cannot see the Kingdom of Elohim. 4 Nakdimon said to
Him, How can a man be born being old? Can he enter a second
time into the womb of his mother and be born? 5 eSwhy
answered, Amein, amein, I say to you, unless any one is born of
water and of Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of
Elohim. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that
which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said
to you, it is needful that you should be born from above. 8 The
wind blows where it will, and you hear (shema) its voice, but
know not from where it comes and where it goes: thus is every
one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:1-8

We will show that when the Messiah spoke of seeing the Kingdom and entering
the Kingdom, His reference was to nothing less than the Shemathe
Commandment which eSwhy taught to be the Greatest of all in the Torah. And
from the words of the Messiah, one cannot help but note how closely the Spirit is
connected with this Commandment. We, once more, view the Hebrew letters seen
in the first six words of The Shema; and we again note: in the Masoretic text of
Deuteronomy 6:4, the ending letters of the first and last words of the manuscript
were rendered by the scribes to be considerably larger than the other letters in the
text:
d
xa hwhy wnyhla hwhy larvy
e
ms
echad YHWH El ohenu YHWH Yi sr ael Shema
f i r st YHWH ( i s) our YHWH I sr ael Hear
( i s) El ohi m

12
The large letters are the AYIN (e) and the DALET (d) and these Hebrew
inscriptions have very special meanings relative to our present topic of study; these
two letters are the key to understanding the words of the Messiah seen in the text
cited above:

1. The letter AYIN (e) not only represents the eye, but in the Hebrew language, the
letter AYIN is pronounced almost exactly like the English word for eye: AYIN ( Nye :
ah-yeen); this is, undoubtedly, where we get our pronunciation/derivation for the
English word eye.

2. The letter DALET (d) not only represents a door, but in the Hebrew language,
the letter DALET is pronounced nearly the same way as the Hebrew word for door:
DELET (tld).

The Spirit reveals that when eSwhy spoke of seeing
45
and entering
46
the
Kingdom,
47
He was speaking of nothing less than The Shema, since the large AYIN
(e) spoke of the eyes and seeing (or having sight) and the large DALET (d)
signified the door:
d
xa hwhy wnyhla hwhy larvy
e
ms
echad YHWH El ohenu YHWH Yi sr ael Shema
one YHWH our El ohi m YHWH I sr ael Hear

When the believer begins to seek hwhy with the intent to hear His Voice, then
prophetic sight/vision will follow. In our days, if given a choice between hearing
and sight, the majority of people asked would likely choose vision. Yet having
studied The Shema and its large, peculiar letters, it should now be more evident to
readers why King Shelemo/Solomon wrote of the hearing ear and the seeing eye:

The hearing ear, and the seeing eye,
hwhy has made even both of them.
Proverbs 20:12

A more literal rendering from the Hebrew text would be as follows:

The ear hears, and the eye sees:
hwhy has made even the two of them.

And one might rightly wonder why Shelemo wrote: the hearing ear and the
seeing eye. Why did he not place vision before hearing?

One would especially think this to have been the case since nearly everyone in our
days would place far more value on the ability to see than on the ability to hear.
But this was not the case: Solomon set the hearing ear before the seeing eye. We
believe King Shelemo/Solomon wrote by the Spirit and that he presented hearing
and sight in the order given for more than just one reason. Recall the enlarged
AYIN ( e ) on the Hebrew word for hear which has been written in the Masoretic
text of Deuteronomy 6:4:
e
mS
shema/hear.
As previously indicated, the letter AYIN ( e ) represents the eye and, thus, seeing,
sight, and vision. The Spirit inspired this letter to be placed last within the
Hebrew word for hear to indicate that sight is the end result of hearing. The
Spirit is telling us that the ability to seeto truly seewill only come if we first
have the ability to hear (and the desire to do) His Word and His will. Hearing
comes before seeing; thus, seeing is dependent upon hearing. In Mishle/Proverbs
20:12, we not only believe King Shelemo wrote by the Spirit, but that, as he did so,
the wise ruler of Yisrael was referring to nothing less than The Shema itself:

Spiritual sight/insight/vision will not
be ours unless we first have ears to hear.

And let us ponder those incidents which we have all surely encountered. Have you
ever been in (or witnessed) a discussion/argument with someone and, although the
proponent of a view/idea/fact being presented was completely correct, the
opposing person was absolutely unable to see? Figuratively speaking, you could
even say the opposing party was blind. And we have all said or thought that of
someone who was unwilling to truly hear. But why was the other person unable to
see/perceive and to understand the correct point of view? Why were they blind?
Was it not because he or she was unable and/or unwilling to truly hear what was
being said?
We could rightly say, then, a lack
of hearing results in blindness.

And Yaacov/James warned us of this very thing. People can be absolutely
blinded by the anger that closes their ears; he wrote of this phenomenon when
stating that mans anger creates within him the inability to hear:

19 You know, my beloved brothers, but let every man
be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for
mans anger does not work the righteousness of Elohim.
James 1:19-20

14
The unrighteous anger of man blocks the ears and closes the eyes. Would you,
then, agree with hwhy that hearing has to come before seeing? And is it any
wonder, then, that the very first word of the Greatest Commandment in all of the
Torah is the word emS/shema/hear?

Sight is extremely important, but without the ability
and the willingness to truly hear, we will also have eyes
that are blind: we will be absolutely unable to see.

Ask, Seek, and Knock
In light of The Shemaand its connection to hearing and prophetic visionwe
will momentarily consider the progression of asking, seeking, and knocking.
These words form a major promise as taught to us by the Messiah:

7 Ask and it shall be given to you; seek, and you
shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. 8 For
every one that asks, receives; and he that seeks, finds;
and to him that knocks, it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8

For what are we to ask? For what are we to seek? On what door are we to knock?
And what occurs when that door is opened? The context of this Teaching indicates
we are to ask for the Spirit:

9 And I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you
shall find; knock, and the door shall be opened to you. 10 For
every one that asks, receives; and he that seeks, finds; and to him
that knocks, the door shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread
of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if a
fish, will he, for a fish, give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask
an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more
will Heavenly Father give Ruach haQodesh to those that ask
Him? Luke 11:9-13

But how does this impartation of the Mynph Mxl / Lechem Panim / The Bread of
the Presence occur? How is the Shekinah Splendor, the Spirit of hwhy, made to
dwell in and around those who seek Elohim? All of this comes to pass as we ask
for, and receive, mercy; it comes to pass as we seek for, and find, favor:

48
Psalm 115:5,8, Revelation 3:16-17
15
Let us therefore draw near with boldness
to the Throne of Favor, that we may receive mercy,
and may find favor to help us in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16

Those who continually draw near, and who seek hwhy in this manner, will also
become doers of the Word, doers of the Torah.
49
And what is the promise made
to those obey the Torah?

Where there is no vision,
the people are unrestrained, but
blessed is he who keeps the Torah.
Mishle/Proverbs 29:18

The promise remains that those who uphold the Torah will also be blessed with the
Spirit of vision and prophecy. There is set before them an open doorthe
Prophetic Door revealed in the DALET (d) of The Shema. The Messiah spoke of
this Door in the Book of Revelation:

I know your worksbehold, I have set before
you an open door, which no one can shutthat you
have a little power, and did keep My Word,
and have not denied My Name.
Revelation 3:8

That this Door is the Door of Vision and Prophecyopened in the Heavens to the
obedientbecomes yet more apparent when we read what was said to
Yochanan/John later in the vision:

After these things I saw, and behold, a door opened
in Heaven, and the first voice that I heard, as of a trumpet,
speaking with me, one saying, Come up here, and I will
show you the things which must come to pass hereafter.
Revelation 3:8

This open Door resulted in Yochanan seeing many prophetic thingsthings which
fill a large part of what we now call The Apocalypse. Yet Yochanans prophetic
visions came because he had sought hwhy and loved Him with the whole heart.
The story of the apostle John is the story of one who loved hwhy and who fulfilled
The Shema. In the Messiah, the Unchanging hwhy still opens the Door of prophetic
vision in the Heavens to those who love Him.

49
Romans 2:13, James 1:22-25, 4:11
16
Loving hwhy With All That We Are
So The Shema is the key to prophetic vision because it is the key to loving
obedience. Those who are given true prophetic vision/sight/insight are those who
love hwhy with all they are, with all they desire, and with all they do. The Shema
ends just as it begins: with a message (and a promise) of hearing and seeing.
Those who love hwhy with all they are will also find they are given ever increasing
insight
50
into His Word, His will, and His ways. The last six words of The Shema
show us that sight is the result of truly loving hwhy. In these last six words, we are
taught to love hwhy with all our heart, all our being, and all our strength (more
accurately, our excess/overflow/zeal):

27 25
Kbbl lkb
l evavka b kol
your hear t wi t h al l

29 31 63 31
Kdam lkbw Kspn lkbw
me- o- deka oo b col naph- sheka oo b col
your excess/ and wi t h your soul and wi t h
over f l ow/ st r engt h al l al l

Note the place value of these six words adds to 206:

206 = 29 + 31 + 63 + 31 + 27 + 25

So what does this have to do vision and sight? you may ask. In Hebrew, the
word for see is har / ro-eh and one of this words values is also equivalent to
206:

(mv) 206 = har = har / ro-eh = see
Those who live with continual love and devotion toward hwhy are also those who
are seeing and entering His Kingdom; they are already being blessed with
prophetic sight/insight into His will and His ways; and they are also blessed with
prophetic vision of those things that are yet to come. And what is it that should we
hear from these closing lines of The Shema? We should hear the desire of the
Most High Himself. These words teach us the desire of His heart:

Being part of the Greatest Commandment in all
of the Torah, these words teach us of Elohims greatest desire.
Above all things, hwhy longs for those who love Him with
all that they are and all that they have.

A Final Word
We have seen how The Shema is the Testimony of eSwhy. And through the Word
of hwhypart of which involves the Hebrew letters and their number valuesit
has been made manifest that the Spirit of Prophecy, the Spirit of prophetic vision
and insight, is especially imparted to those love hwhy with unbroken devotion. The
Shema is Ultimate Expression of that love. Walking in love, the authentic believer
actually begins to see and enter the Kingdom on this side of the Resurrection.

Above all else in this present manuscript, we pray that the Greatest Desire of hwhy,
His Desire to have a people who love Him with all their being, moves readers to
walk in continual love for their Creator and Redeemer, who loved us and gave
Himself for us. t
