Sritel – A Brief Overview

is a basic telecom provider and has been at the fore front of the private
conglomerates of the BSNL in Hyderabad, Bangalore.

Sritel is formed as an alliance of Unitel with Latest Communication.

Established in 2001, Unitel has been a pioneering force in the DID operator of
BSNL Bangalore. Currently Unitel as an official franchise of the BSNL is providing
the basic telephony services along with the high speed internet connectivity.

The exchange operated by the Unitel is fully equipped with 1000 lines and the
existing customer base of over 900. Unitel is in the process of expanding its
present infrastructure to more than 5000 lines. Also the 100% owned 50 km
copper cable network acts as the back bone for the existing exchange.

Basically Unitel operates from Yelahanka New Town, Bangalore with its own
building covering more than 6500 sft.

‘Latest Communication’ which is an ISP provider, boasts of 5000 lines exchange

and 8000 lines broad band connections. This operates in Vishakhapatnam city.
Also this is having its own 300 km OFC and copper cable networks in and around
the Vishakhapatnam city.

We are working with the GVK Group of companies in providing the Total telecom
services for their shopping mall / Commercial complex. This commercial complex
is a 6.5 lakh sq.ft: (7 floors for commercial occupancy and 5 floors for parking).
Currently the exchange is being setup for providing voice and data services. This
provision consists of the services from different operators like Bsnl, Airtel, Tata
etc. Also we are providing In building solutions (IBS) for better mobile connectivity
for all the cellular operators. All these erecting and commissioning work is going
on as per the telecom proposals provided.

TECHNOLOGY WORKING PROCEDURE

Service – A (Voice and Data)

The Principle:
The technology offers complete telecom solution like voice, data, wireless, wifi
at the same time giving wide range of flexibility for customers.

Voice services
E1R2 will be taken up from the different operators/sources like
BSNL/AIRTEL/TATA so as to ensure minimum two of the operators thus
ensuring service redundancy.

The capacity of the exchange will be scalable, with initial capacity of 1000 lines
exchange.

The connectivity to the customer will be provided through this exchange, to a

single instrument.

The advantages of this solution:

1. The customer has the flexibility of selecting the operator i.e., the phone line
given can be used either as the BSNL land line or Airtel/ landline or the Tata
land line phone.
2. This feature gives customer the flexibility to operate his phone line even if
when any network of one operator is down. One connection works as three
phones from two/three different operators
3. This also gives the flexibility of taking advantage for getting the best pricing
from the operator in the reducing tariffs which vary from time to time. All this
gives the customer the advantage of reducing his telecom bills.
4. Presently the toll free numbers of BSNL/MTNL are not accessible from
private operators and vice versa for toll free numbers of private operators. This
has disadvantage for public calling these shops or customers calling these toll

free numbers. But in this solution the Customer can have common instrument
for acting as Toll free numbers and can call any toll free numbers.
5. Another advantage of this solution is that the customers’ customer (public)
can have the flexibility to call from his availability of the provider.
Internet/Wifi services
6. High speed internet connectivity will be given to the customer such that the
customer can have the seamless redundancy of internet from at least two
operators.
For example, if the customer has high speed internet connectivity from a BSNL
operator, and if the network is down that customer will not be having the
internet until the network is repaired. But whereas here even if that particular
operators’ network is down the internet connectivity can be given from the
different operator
7. Wifi hot spots will be made available at important locations for such
customers who will take the premises in hire for short periods.
[Suggestion from Sritel: As the 3G services are going to be introduced through
out the country, it is not suggestible to go for the Wifi services, reason being as
the cellular services has overtook the pager services the 3 G services may
overtake. If required Wifi services may be provided as mentioned in point 7
above.]
Data services
8. Any big Corporates / customers requiring leased lines will be coordinated
with the telecom operators to ensure secured leased lines as per the
customized requirements

Service – B (Cellular coverage)
1. Integrated cellular coverage services with in a building ex. Shopping
complexes, big residential complexes, theaters, big hospitals etc. gives
the advantage to the customer with in the area to enjoy the best quality
services.

Advantages of this setup:
1. The set up will be given to all the big buildings, shopping malls, and theaters
etc. where excellent indoor cellular coverage is required.

2. This enables the customers their mobile usage from the place where they
stand with out any distraction due to bad mobile coverage. This enables good
quality in the mobile services.
3. Different technologies’ services can be provided. E.g., CDMA, GSM
4. The builder or the owner of the premises need not bother that his building
structured will be intruded every time any new service provider comes for the
installation of their equipment.
5. This setup gives the advantage to the telecom operators to connect with the
ready in-building setup, which enable their work movement faster and with out
any hassles.
Service – C (Television Cable network and the security services)
1. The entire Television cable network (Satellite TV) will be provided by us.
2. The advantages of this are the customer will be getting the cable
connectivity for his television.

1. On total billing of customers whom we are providing telecom services on
billing we are offering 8.0% excluding service tax ‘as per the government
legislation’.
a. For Example: If the total billing from all the customers in the complex is
Rs.4,00,000/-. The 8% of this is Rs. 32,000/- per month will be paid to SOUL
SPACE by Sritel. Per annual it will be Rs 3,84,000-00.(approximate).

Service – B (Cellular Coverage)

2. The Integrated cellular coverage services will be provided in the building
premises by coordinating with various telecom operators.
3. Initially the services from six various telecom operators will be provided
(includes GSM and CDMA services)
4. Each telecom operator will be charged from Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 35,000/- per
month by Sritel for giving them this services among which 25% of the total
amount collected will be paid to the Soul Space PROJECTS Ltd.
a. For Example: Present there are 10 mobile operators. If the cellular service is
provided for 7 operators, each operator will be charged say on an average Rs.
30,000/-. The overall collection will be 7 X 30,000 = 2,10,000. Among which
25% i.e., Rs. 52,500 per month will be paid to Soul space by Sritel.
5. All the maintenance related activities will be monitored and maintained by
Sritel.
6. Deposits collected from the customers for both the services A and B (Voice,
Data and cellular coverage) will be taken by Sritel for the security reasons.
7. Initial investment for the setup of the control room will be born by
Sritel.
Requirements: from soul space projects Ltd.
1. For setting up of the telecom control room approximately 500 sft may be
required (because Figure no: 1, 2 and 3 has to be setup in this control room)
and this space will be provided by you free of cost at basement.
2. In spite of having alternate power source (Battery Setup), in case off power
failures, DG power point may be provided to the telecom control room.
3. This operation rights for mobile coverage inbulding and external (external
3 or 6 meter pole antenna will be installed on terrace of the building) are to be
given to Sritel exclusively.

Service – C
On DTH / Cable TV services we are giving 3% on total billing
(exclusive service tax).

SECOND Offer to SOUL SPACE PROJ ECTS LTD:

Service – A (Voice and Data)
On total billing of customers whom we are providing telecom services on billing
we are offering 6.0% excluding service tax ‘as per the government legislation’.
Service – B (Cellular Coverage)
We are ready to give each operator per year one lack . from the date of
agreement with operators. Each operator after agreement Rs 50,000/- will be
deposited.

Service – C (DTH/ CABLE TV SERVICES)

On DTH / Cable TV services we are giving 3% on total billing
(exclusive service tax).

To be used Equipment details:

For Voice: IRIS Technology telecom product exchange
For Date: Cisco’s Routers, Utstarcom’s or Huwaei’s Diesalams, ADSL modems
used in customer premises will be of Utstarcom
For IBS: Cellcom products like POI, 7/8, 1/2 Rf cables, omni antenna and panel
antennas, couplers, splitters and combiners.
