Birth Place of Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin Zinda Shah Madar

Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin Kutubul Madar was born in the Halab city of Shaam (now known as Syria).
The Halab city is famous and holy in Syria. It is said that once there was a hill where now eists a
fort. It is on this hill that Hazrat Ibrahim (!eace be u!on him) had milked his "oats and this
!rocess of milkin" in arabic is known as Halab# so the name Halab was "i$en to this city. Syria is
the nei"hbour of the %rab countries# which is known as the &ulf re"ion these days. The &ulf re"ion
is surrounded by the Indian 'cean# the Mediterranean Sea# the red sea and the deserts. The
re"ion that lies from the seashores of Syria to the deserts of (emen is called as )Hi*aa*). The holy
cities of Makkah# Taif yasraf and Madina are !arts of this re"ion# which is related to the life of the
+ro!het
This is the same Makkah city from where +ro!het Muhammad (!eace be u!on him) "a$e the !eace
messa"es and enli"htened the lam!s of mercy in the darkness of humanity. This is the same Taif#
where !eo!le stoned the !ro!het# but instead He !rayed and showered lo$e u!on them. May it be
the sacrifice of %nsar# or the dedication of the Mu*ahireen# or the merciful !ersonalities of the
Momin with kindness# or the holy natures of the +an*atans, this treasure of Islam has eliminated in
this world throu"h Madina itself.
It is the !recious "ift to this Hi*aa* re"ion that in that era when there was lack of resources water
in this re"ion# Hazrat Ibrahim (-.%) had settled his son Hazrat Ismail in the city of Makkah. In the
same way it is a !resti"e for Shaam (Syria) that Hazrat Ismail resided his son Hazrat Is.ha/.
The first e$er military attack on Shaam was in !rotest a"ainst the khaleefa Hazrat %bu Bakar
Siddi/ui. The day when Hazrat %bu Bakar Siddi/ui e!ired# the Islamic forces entered 0amishk but
Shaam was com!letely con/uered in the "o$ernance of Hazrat 1mar 2aroo/. In Hi*ri 34 accordin"
to the Islamic calendar the Muslims were $ictorious in Shaam. Im!ressed with the teachin"s of
Islam# its s!ecialities and the kind characters of the Muslims# many of the dwellers acce!ted Islam
and this resulted in the s!readin" of Islam. So it can be said that Islam reached this re"ion in the
eistin" life of the +ro!het itself.
It is this country Shaam# where Hazrat Bilal (-.%) had s!ent days of his life when he found hard to
li$e his life after "ettin" se!arated from the +ro!het.

The birth of Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin Zinda Shah Madar
In Hi*ri 565# accordin" to the Islamic calendar# it was a !leasant Monday mornin". It was 7id and
the rays of the sun had not yet touched the skies# the twili"ht was about to share its beauty in the
city and the darkness of the ni"ht was about to $anish. The cool wind was blowin" as if it is sin"in"
with charm and the atmos!here was enli"htened with the fra"rance of the blossoms. Hazrat %li
Halbi.s house was is e!ectin" a heir in the arms of 2atma Saniya# who will fill the world with his
charm.
Hazrat Sayed Idrees Halbi says that when Madar was born# he bowed before %llah and recited the
Kalima8e8Shahadat. %t the instance there was li"ht e$erywhere in the house. It is stated that the
+ro!het alon" with his friends and Hazrat Khizr $isited their house and "reeted 2atima Saniya and
her husband for the birth of the child. %t this time there were chantin" of the 9uranic $erses in the
atmos!here. 7$eryone who looked at the child said that the child is a "ift of the almi"hty %llah.
The body seems to be made of li"ht# as if rays are comin" out of the body.
:ith "reat charm Hazrat %li Halbi named the child as Badi.uddin %hmad.
2atima Saniya# mother of Hazrat Badi.uddin said that when she was !re"nant# if she would !lace
any sus!icious item in her mouth then she used to "et !ain in the stomach and sounds were
heard. She added that when Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar was an infant and only
mother.s milk was his feed# then he ne$er feeded if the mother was not in wazu. :hen he was
cryin" for some reason and if at the same time the %zaan is heard# he used to be /uiet and listen
to it carefully. Same thin" ha!!ened when he heard the recitation of the 9uran Shareef by anyone.

The tradition of Bismillah
It was time when Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar had reached the a"e of four years#
four months and four days that the traditional ceremony of Bismillah was celebrated. (This
tradition is celebrated till date in Makan!ur )
%fter the ceremony# Hazrat %li Halbi decided to educate Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar
so he handed him to the that time "reat !hiloso!her Hazrat Sadiduddin Huzaifa .Shami (- %) for
his studies. Hazrat Shami started teachin" Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar with the
word )Bismillah Ir8-ahman Ir8-ahim)# then he was tau"ht to say )%leef) (it is the first al!habet in
%rabic). The teacher was so amazed with his student# as he used to ask each and e$ery mean of
the al!habet. (when it is used# where it is used# how it is !ronounced# etc). 'nce the teacher
himself said that this is a :ali of the almi"hty %llah.
<ote= In the book )&ulzar8e8Madar)# the author Maulana Sayed Mehmood has written that Hazrat
Huzaifa Sayed himself has stated that one day in a dream +ro!het Muhammad (!eace be u!on
him) came to him and said=) his child is a :ali of the almi"hty %llah and is from my ori"in. So
!lease care about him and !ay attention on him).
%nyway in the a"e of 36# Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar had memorised the 9uran
Shareef and had read its eistence $alues as well he "ot knowled"e of other reli"ious to!ics.
Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar also had the knowled"e of the -imia# Kimia# Himia and
the Simia traditions. ( Himia is such a science# which is com!arati$e to ma"ic# -imia is the science
which ables a !erson to chan"e !laces in no time# Simia is the science# which enables a human
body to chan"e soul# and Kimia is the study# which turns iron into "old. Many disci!les of the
madariya chain knew this science. 'ne of those is Hazrat Baba 0ariya Maan whose tomb is in
Baroda &u*arat. It is said that his soul used to lea$e his body and whene$er he wished it came
back in it.
In the book )Taskiratulkram fi %hwale Khulafa8e8%rbo Islam# it is written that Hazrat Sayed
Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar had the knowled"e of all the four books which came from the
+aradise.
First hajj
:hen Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar was 36 years of a"e# he had com!leted the
education and he asked his father Sayed kazi kidwattuddin ali halbi that he wishes to mer"e in the
>affariya chain. That he would make !eo!le to be related to that chain. The thou"ht of ha** arri$ed
in his mind and he took !ermission from his !arents to "o to Makkah and Madina.
That thou"ht also encoura"ed him to say before his !arents that there are two main tasks to be
done in his life , one is towards the almi"hty %llah and other is towards the !arents. Hence he
re/uested them to let him "o into the way of Islam and s!read the teachin"s of Islam amon"st
others. He was !ermitted by his !arents for the task with the answer that we free you from our
ri"hts and let you in the hands of the almi"hty %llah.
Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar with the !ermission of his !arents started his *ourney
towards Makkah for the ha** !il"rima"e with no lu""a"e in his hands. 'n the way he "ot throu"h a
ca$e where he s!ent some days of his life !rayin" and de$otin" his life towards others and then he
left from there. The way to Makkah co$ered the !ath throu"h Israel# +hili!!ines# and >ordan , so
when Hazrat Sayed Madar reached Baitul Mukaddas# he met Sultanul %rifeen Hazrat Bay*id
Bustami alias Tayfoor Shami. %t that time Shami said that Badiuddin# I was waitin" for you. I used
to see a miraculous li"ht here# but now that I had seen you I belie$e that the li"ht I had seen is
you.
'n the 5?th !a"e of the book ;ulfikar8e8badi# Hazrat khwa*a <aseruddin (-.%) had written that
when Sayed Badiuddin reached the Baitul Mukaddas that time he met Hazrat Bay*id Bustami# who
was master in his miracles. %t that time there were some @AA khalifas of Hazrat# and were in dee!

soon you will meet a man whose name will be %hmad Badiuddin. So when you meet him you
should offer him all the teachin"s that you ha$e earned# as it is his authority. So I am ready to do

%fter that Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar was !led"ed with the Tayfooriya chain and

Hazrat Sayed Badiuddin ;inda Shah Madar tolerated them with ease and carried out his mission
with all faith. But it was somethin" else that was to ha!!en. The shi! "ot cau"ht in a hea$y storm

a hard situation for life.
It was a lon" *ourney and the foodstuff was all scattered due to the cyclone. The members
onboard were killed due to star$ation. Madar !rayed to the almi"hty %llah to look after him that he
need not feel hun"ry or thirsty as he has to sur$i$e without any foodstuff. His !rayers asked %llah
