Organiers:
Peena Industries Association: Peenya is the largest manufacturing cluster in South East Asia, located at the Northern part of
the Bangalore City. The MSMEs in the largest engineering/ manufacturing cluster are capable of manufacturing quality products
and win-win situation for both the MNCs and the MSMES. The Manufacturing Industries (Sector) in Peenya is growing at a rapid
pace. The demand for reliable subcontracting organizations that deliver high quality work at economical prices in the
international market is tremendous. Peenya is turning out to be an attractive destination as a global outsourcing hub and
manufacturing base for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Peenya Industries Association, in association with MSME,
NSIC, DIC (Govt. of Karnataka) is organizing a Vendor Development Meet and B2B, PIAExpo:2012(Peenya Industries
Automotive & Engineering Expo:2012). This event is likely to benefit all the MSMES of the Association. We plan to reach out to
the MNCs and large industries.
Organiing Partners
MSME: Worldwide, the Micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been accepted as the engine of economic growth
and for promoting equitable development. The major advantage of the sector is its employment potential at low capital cost. The
MSMEs constitute over 90% of total enterprises in most of the economics and are credited with generating the highest rates of
employment growth and account for a major share of industrial production and exports. In India too, the MSME,s play a pivotal
role in the overall industrial economy of the country. In recent years the MSME sector has consistently registered higher growth
rate compared to the overall industrial sector. As per available statistics (4th Census of MSME Sector), this sector employs an
estimated 59.7 million persons spread over 26.1 million enterprises. It is estimated that in terms of value, MSME sector
accounts for about 45% of the manufacturing output and around 40% of the total export of the country.
NSIC: NSIC has reinforced its strength by building new competencies to serve the emerging needs of Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises in todays competitive environment. The company has created several innovative products to provide integrated
support in terms of marketing, technology, credit and information to MSMEs. As a result of these initiatives, Company achieved
record operational and financial performance in 2010-11. Business turnover showed a remarkable growth of 71% amounting to
Rs. 77000 million. It has also been NSICs Endeavour to develop micro & small enterprises (MSEs) in other developing
countries also.
Government of Karnataka: The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Karnataka is one of the oldest
institutions set up under the aegis of the Government. Established in the year 1913 under the erstwhile Princely State of Mysore,
the Department oversees the Industrial Development in the State. This Department works operates under the Commerce and
Industries Department, Government of Karnataka. The Department operates at the state level through the Directorate of
Industries and Commerce, at the District level through the network of District Industries Centers, Industrial wing of Zilla

Industries and Commerce, at the District level through the network of District Industries Centers, Industrial wing of Zilla
panchayath and in coordination with related Boards and Corporations. The Department plays pivotal role in implementation of
Schemes and Policies of the State and Union Governments for the promotion of Industrial Development throughout the state.
MSRSAS: M.S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies (MSRSAS) is an Institute under the GEF Trust, Bangalore, which imparts
Postgraduate Engineering and Management courses, conducts research leading to Ph.D all in collaboration with Coventry
University, UK. In addition, conducts training and lifelong learning programme; offers engineering solutions and supports
technology businesses
Objectives of Epo:
Develop a Platform for partnerships between supplier and buyers to optimize the manufacturing capabilities of the
affiliated enterprises.
Integrate the supply and demand to set up an effective industrial chain.
Get competent subcontractors for OEMs and assist the subcontractors to get more business opportunities.
Collaborate for technology transfers, lower cost of production to develop core competencies and upgrade the productivity
lines.
