Introductions

Guest speakers:
1. Che Frey-Executive Director-Our House-Bright
Futures
Showed testimonial video of participants in program,
parents of students, and other community members
that are familiar with the programs and facilities as
well as introducing a new vocational training program
that works in conjunction with AMR, located at their
south location and recycles car seats
Ratio of staff to students varies from 1:1- 1:3
Rise program- 3 days/ week, next to new library @
north location- for individuals with a higher level of
independence with a curriculum designed to increase
vocational and soft skills

2. Aspire Program-Jennifer winter unable to present,
brochures were handed out
Experimental Long-Term program for individuals aged
14-16 and receiving SSI benefits
A six state consortium implementing the Department
of Educations PROMISE initiative (Promoting
Readiness for Minors in Supplemental Security
Income), advancing the self-sufficiency of youth
receiving SSI (Supplemental Security Income) and
their families.

Independence Skills teacher at the Colorado Springs
Independence Center

Learning Program-reading program catered to
reading level of individual
Also offering Customized Disability and Sign

3.Community Smart-Halloween Party located at 2308
East Platte Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 on
October 17, 2014

4.CHS Martial Arts, LLC-Classes for all ages and
abilities, flat rate of $800 for 8 weeks not a per person
rate. Class size of 25 if located at their facility, class
size will vary if instructors travel to your location

5. Hannah Widmer-Advocate for the ARC of the Pikes
Peak region will send Cindy infor about the Aktion
Club for individuals high school aged and above

6.Cindy will send meeting PPITT notes to gmail list
serve

7.Accessibility Store at the Colorado Springs
Independence Center will close its doors in Dec of
2014. Affordable Medical, located at Union and
Constitution has the same products and more but are
only open during business hours.
