Dear Parents/Carers
Following on from recent improvements to our safeguarding policies in school we would like to announce
further measures which will aim to ensure the safety and welfare of all our children here at Barlow Hall
primary School.
ow that all of our ursery children have started with us we will !e strictly enforcing the policy of not
allowing parents into the school !uilding unless they have an appointment with a mem!er of staff.
"nfortunately this may mean that if you !ring your child into school late you may need to wait with them
until a mem!er of staff is availa!le to walk them down to their classroom. #his will also !e the case if a
child has an appointment during the school day.

$e are also tightening our procedures around the end of the school day
and in this respect the e%ternal main door to the school will now !e locked all day and only those parents
with appointments or en&uiries for the school office will !e admitted into the school !uilding. #his is due
not only to the e%cessive congestion which can occur at the office !efore and after school !ut also to
allow privacy to those parents who have matters to discuss with staff. "nfortunately this means the
school office will not !e availa!le for parents to sit and wait in !efore or after school and parents must
wait outside in the playground to collect their child.
#he following procedures will also apply at the end of the school day'
#he main school gate will !e locked at (')*pm.
Children who have not !een collected !y (')*pm and who are not !ooked in to after School Clu!

Deputy.
+ll children who are collected after (')*pm must !e signed out !y the parent/ carer.
,f you need your child to attend our +fter School clu! please ensure that you have !ooked them in
at least the day !efore a place is re&uired. Please also ensure that you complete a new parent
contract for this year if you have not already done so. #hese are availa!le in the office and at the
+fter School Clu!- as well as on the !logsite . www.!arlowhall!logs.net and can !e emailed out to
you !y return email.
+ll children who are at an activity clu! after school will !e dismissed !y the mem!er of staff leading
the session from the main office e%ternal door.

Please could we also remind parents that packed lunches should !e
!rought into school !y the children in the morning as we are currently e%periencing a large volume of late
lunches !eing !rought into school. #his means that the office is left unattended during delivery and we
wish to avoid this situation as it impacts upon our safeguarding procedures.
