The Secretariat activities for the month of August, 2014 are highlighted as follows:
WEEK 1
Notification of an Illegal Parallel Branch
Officers Committee (BOC) in NMA Delta
State was received.

Invitation as a Special guest to the flag off

was received.

Enforcement of the Direction of the
Medical and Dental Practitioners
Disciplinary Tribunal on Dr. Godwin Ugbam
was received from the MDCN.

Re: Enforcement of the Direction of the
Medical and Dental Practitioners
Disciplinary Tribunal- on Dr. Godwin
Ugbam was sent to the Chairman, NMA
Enugu State branch.

Re: The draft Review Scheme of Service as
it Affects Primary Health care Department
and Services in the Country was received
from Association of Public Health
Physicians of Nigeria (APHPN).

Challenges was received from Soreb
Consulting International.

Resolutions of the Second regular National
Executive Council (NEC) Meeting of the
National Association of Resident Doctors
of Nigeria (NARD) was received.

WEEK 2
National Officers Committee (NOC)
Meeting was held on the 12

of August,
2014 at the Conference Room of the NMA
National Secretariat, Abuja.

National Officers Committee (NOC) of the
Nigerian Medical Association met with the
Medical Women Association of Nigerian
and National Association of Resident
Doctors of Nigeria.

Letter of Appointment of Prof. Michael C.
Asuzu as National Coordinator of
Emergency Response Committee of the
NMA was dispatched.

Reports on a Pre-Conference Press
briefing on service Industry in Nigeria and
Meeting with leaders of Professional

received from the Health Reform
Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON).

Invitation to the Annual General Scientific
Conference of the Medical Association of
Nigerians Across Great Britain (MANSAG)
was received.

National Human Right Commission,
Invitation to a Public Awareness on the
Rights of People Living with HIV/AIDS. Was
received.

NMA delegation led by the President, Sir,
Dr. Kayode OBEMBE met with the Senate
President, Senator David A. B. Mark at the
National Assembly, Abuja to dialogue on
the ongoing Strike and mass sack of
resident Doctors.

Congratulatory letter was sent to the new
Head of Service of the Federation, Mr.
Danladi Kifasi.

Put Nigeria first Initiative Request for
Courtesy visit was received from the
National Project Coordinator.

Re: Letter of Notification of Nigerian
Medical Association (NMA) National
Executive Council (NEC) decision on Dr. A.
A. Jimoh Panel report was received from
the MDCN.

of the Nigerian Medical Association
(NMA)was held at J.JUMAC Hotel in Awka,
Anambra State from Sunday 23

State/FCT branches were requested to send
their 10 digit Nuban account numbers to the
National Secretariat if they have not done so.

Association.

Legislative positions to the National
Secretariat.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The States are requested to send details of their
activities to the NMA National Secretariat.

ALL NMA State/FCT branches are hereby reminded
that they are to conduct election and hand over
within three months as stated in the NMA
constitution. They are to communicate with the
NMA National Secretariat details of the new
officers as soon as this is done.
