SHUBHA-ABDE - KRURA-ABDE WITH REFERENCE TO NATAL AND NAVAMSA CHARTS

SHUBHA-ABDE - KRURA-ABDE

Venkatesa the author of DevaKeralam has defined Krura Rasi as follows:
"The sign occupied by the lord of the 8th house and its trine signs or signs aspectcd by him and the
sign identical with Navamsa occupied by him (the 8th lord) and trines thereof, are said to be Krura
signs. Transit of the Sun through them is known as Krura month and transit of Jupiter is said to be
known as Krura year."
- In six ascendants from Mesha to Kanya ( 1st group) the lords of the 8th signs (ho uses) there
from are Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Saturn, Jupiter and Mars respectively. These three planets
have two more extra aspects in addition to the usual 7th house aspect. As such Krura signs
for them will be more as compared to the remaining six ascendants.

- In ascendants from Thula to Meena (2nd group) the lords of the 8th sign (houses) there
from are Venus. Mercury, the Moon, the Sun, Mercury and Venus respectively. These four
planets have only one full aspect i.e ., the 7th aspect, so the total number of Krura signs will
be less.

- Kruramasa and Krurabda
The sign occupied by the lord of the 8th house and its trine signs or signs aspectcd by him
and the sign identical with Navamsa occupied by him (the 8th lord) and trines thereof, are
said to be Krura signs. Transit of the Sun through them is known as Krura month and
transit of Jupiter is said to be known as Krura year. Even if Sagittarius and Pisces are
included in Krura rasis, Jupiters transit will give bad results.

- Shubhamsa abd shubabde
The remaining signs not in trines to Saturn (the 8
th
lord) and not aspected aspected by
Saturn, either in the natal or navamsa chart are known as Shubha Rasis. The transit of Sun
is known as shubhamsa and Jupiter is known as Shubhabde and their transits will give good
results to the native.
