ELTDP Symposium 2015
Wednesday 4th Friday 6th March 2015 Hilton Hotel, Kuching Invitation for Session Proposals The long-term success of our project depends on teachers continuing to build upon their achievements, by further developing their own knowledge and professional skills and by encouraging participation, including sharing with and inspiring others. The Symposium Organising Committee is very pleased to invite teachers, with the support of their mentors, to lead sessions related to the symposium theme: Keeping it Going: Sustaining Professional Growth
Guidelines
You are invited to submit a proposal which not only features an area, or areas, of past achievement but also highlight how you will maintain, further develop and share your success in the future. You are encouraged to structure both your retrospective experience and ideas for the future in a who/what/why/when/how framework.
The sessions, which can involve a maximum of 2 people (2 teachers or 1 teacher supported by the mentor), can take the form of an Interactive Talk/Workshop (30 or 60 minutes) or a 90 minute Workshop. There will also be opportunities to display a Creative Teacher Showcase (CTS) showing examples of best practices and resources for discussion with interested delegates. Guidelines for the CTS will be published on our website shortly.
Below is a proposal form in which you are asked to provide a short summary of your session which will appear in the conference programme. Please carefully consider the following:
1. Will it capture interest by offering a unique and stimulating session? 2. Is it appropriate for the theme Keeping it Going: Sustaining Professional Growth? 3. How will you share this presentation with others in your district?
Although we would like to give all those who submit proposals the opportunity to participate, final selection will depend upon the number received versus rooms available, geographical spread and, of course, the quality and relevance of the proposals. Please be assured that following submission of initial proposals, where appropriate, we will do our best to offer guidance and suggestions for modification.
