A $14 million proposition of redesign for Hoboken's main roads will have pedestrian crossing
signals for every intersection, add bike lanes and, possibly cut a few parking spot, which a few
drivers will be less that happy about. During the third and final community meeting on the
proposed redesign of Washington Street on Tuesday night, a final conceptual plan for the 17-
block street was presented. This includes adding new traffic lights, installing pedestrian
countdown signals at every intersection, adding protected bike lanes and adding 32 loading
spaces, said Gordon Meth, director of traffic engineering at The RBA Group, the planning firm
working with the city. The estimated cost of the proposed plans of $14 million will dispose 2 to 3
percent of the parking spots along Washington Street Meth said. An exact number couldnt be
given of how many would be cut, currently there are 555 spots, but it probably be around 11 and
16 depending on the time of day.

Huge Wind Farm Proposed for Wyoming Would Store Energy in Utah Caves
On Tuesday a proposed $8 billion project with four energy companies so that within a decade
they could send power generated by wind on Wyoming's plains to power-thirsty households in
Southern California. The sprawling venture would create one of the country's largest wind farms
on land north of Cheyenne, a huge energy storage site inside Utah caverns and a 525-mile
electric transmission line connecting them. "This project would be the 21st century's Hoover
Dam," said Jeff Meyer of Pathfinder Renewable Wind Energy, referring to the 726-foot high
span across the Colorado River that for decades has produced hydroelectric power for Nevada,
Arizona and California.

Sylvester Stallones Australian hotel room and private jet was searched for illegal substances,
say Australian authorities. This search comes just three days prior to authorities seizing banned
substances when he and his entourage were stopped by Australian customs officials after a
routine X-ray detected something wrong with their luggage. Authorities detained Stallone and
his entourage for what was believed to be a type of human growth hormone. The outcome is still
to be seen; Australians have a no tolerance policy for any type of illegal drugs, including steroids
and performance-enhancing substances. Stallone was in Australia in support of the Australian
premiere of Rocky Balboa.
