Broadcast Bus
Broadcast Bus Distribution
Allows information to be broadcast to a large number of elements
An originating CE sends a message to be broadcast to both BC -
CPRCs using the DSN
Each BC - CPRC sends the message to be broadcast to a SYS -
BCLA
The SYS - BCLA distributes the message to Bus A OR Bus B
depending its position
A RACK - BCLA receives and distributes the messages from one
broadcast bus to the slave CE in the rack

TSCA
The TSCA is the Transmission Sub System Controller
The TSCA is directly configured by the BSC
Since B6.2 the TSCA software and transmission files are a part of
the BSC software package
Together with the BSC, the TSCA supervises and controls :
Abis and Ater terminations (BSC / TC / BTS)
A terminations at the TC
TC equipment
Transmission links
Supervision and control is performed using the Qmux protocol

Definitions
A BSS Master file is a collection of files representing the
programs, patches and data needed for a particular and complete
load of every module in the BSS, BSC or BTS.
The Master Files concept is used in the BSS environment to
identify clearly and unambiguously the set of files which together
represent the software package for the whole BSS, BSC or BTS
group.

S5: BSC software architecture
MF organisation
BSS Master file
This file for a given BSS SW version identifies the BSC SW Master
file, BSC DB Master file, BSS Maping file, BTS DB Master file and
the list of BTS SW Master files associated to that version.
BSC SW Master file
This file for a given BSC SW version identifies the code, the data
and patch files associated to that version, for the CE CPRC, TCUC
and DTCC.
BSC DB Master file
This file for a given BSC SW version identifies the BSC Database
file (DLS) associated to that version. The DLS gives the logical
configuration of the BSS.
Alcatel University - 8AS 90001 2103 VT ZZA Ed.02 - January 2002 Page 75
S5: BSC software architecture
MF organisation
BTS DB Master file
This file identifies all the OMU-CPF files for the BTSs. The OMU-
CPF file gives the HW architecture for type of BTS.
BTS SW Master file
This file for a given BTS SW gives the code files (but not the OMU-
CPFs) associated to that version. Because the name part of the
BTS SW Master file does not identity the BTS in anyway, it is
possible to assign BTS SW Master file to more than one BTS and
consequently there are less BTS SW Master files in the BSS
Master file than there are BTSs.
BSS Map file
This file contains per record the BTS index and the associated BTS
SW Master file and OMU-CPF file.

File names
BSS File names convention (1)
The general format of a loadable file name is AAAAAAAA.BBC
AAAAAAAA is the main part. t comprises a string of 8 characters
between [ A .. Z ] and /or [ 0 .. 9 ] and / or [ - ].
BBC is the extension part which has 3 characters, where :
BB is the file version number. The allowed range of values is between
[ 00 .. 99 ].
C is the sub-version character. Only one character between
[ A .. Z ].

File numbers
BSS File numbers convention
The file number is an internal BSC reference stored in the last field
of the file descriptor.
The following ranges of file numbers are allowed, depending on the
sub-system involved.
BSC files :
Most of the files have four digit numbers, where the first digit indicates
the release, e.g., the BSS master file for the various release is :
5100 : release B5
8100 : release B6.2
9100 : release B7.1
BTS files
For BTS files, the allowed range for file numbers is : [x700..x999].
