Product data sheet
General information:
Above minimum film forming temperature LIPATON AE 3020 forms a clear, slightly tacky film. The low minimum film forming temperature
is achieved exclusively by appropriate adjustment of the styrene/acrylic ester ratio in the polymer and enables end products to form films
without addition of film forming aids and plasticizers. LIPATON AE 3020 is suitable in particular for production of elastic coatings with high
extensibility and small water absorption.
LIPATON AE 3020 is highly compatible with conventional pigments and fillers. At very high pigment volume concentrations and when
fillers having a large specific surface are used, the requirement for wetting agent to produce a coating material with a good storage stability
should be carefully determined. DEHYDRAN1620 is recommended as effective defoamer.
Application advice:
LIPATON AE 3020 is preserved against bacterial and fungal attack. In the manufacture of finished products, the material has to be
retreated, as ususal, with suitable biocides to give enhanced preservation.
Dispatch and storage:
LIPATON AE 3020 is supplied in road tankers or in non-returnable plastics drums secured by a lid with clamping ring or in non-returnable
palletized bulk containers (net weight 1,000 kg). LIPATON AE 3020 has to be stored protected from frost and, as far as possible, below 40
C. Storage at temperatures between +5 and +30 C is recommendable. LIPATON AE 3020 contains a preservative to counter microbial
attack during transportation. To protect it against germination during subsequent storage, absolutely stringent plant hygiene and, under
certain circumstances, the addition of suitable preservatives will be necessary. Care must be taken to ensure that drums and storage
containers are tightly closed. During processing, storage and transport of the product contact with metals unprotected against corrosion
(likewise non-ferrous metals) has to be avoided. When stored correctly Lipaton AE 3020 has a storage life of 12 months from date of
delivery.
General indications on safety:
LIPATON AE 3020 does not require staturory labelling either under the (German) Dangerous Substances Regulation (GefStoffV) or the
EU Directive on Dangerous Preparations and is also not subject to Transport Regulations on Dangerous Goods currently in force. For
LIPATON AE 3020 a EU safety data sheet is available.
Effluent and environmental protection:
LIPATON AE 3020 contains only water as medium for its dispersion and is free from solvents. LIPATON AE 3020 has been assigned to
Water Hazard Class 1 (weakly water hazardous). Any LIPATON AE 3020 in the effluent may be removed with suitable flocculating agents.
The relevant regulations have to be observed for dumping or incineration of the coagulated and separated solids content.
