ACCUMULATOR TANK

DIS 5000

INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL

2

1. Structure and Intended Use

Accumulator tanks are intended to collect, store and transfer the excess of warm
heating water or other fluids approved to contact steel, obtained from various
sources of heat: central heating boilers, solar collectors, heat pumps, etc.
Accumulator tanks protect the central heating system they take over the difference
between the thermal power of the boiler and the power returned to the heating
system. The maximum working pressure of the tank is 0.3 MPa.
Accumulator tanks are made of black steel sheet. The thermal insulation is made
of a layer of soft polyurethane foam with 10 cm in thickness. The cover of the foam is
a shell made of plastic leather.

2. Safety Devices and Conditions of Safe Use

Tanks, especially those operating in closed systems, can be used only with a
functioning safety valve with the opening pressure max. 0.3 MPa, preferably installed
on the cold water inlet. The valve protects the equipment from excessive pressure in
the heating circuit.

Even in case of regular operation, water can leak from the safety valve, which
confirms that the valve operates in a correct manner. Never obstruct the discharge
hole in such cases.

3. Operation and Service

1. Periodically, at least once a month and before every activation after close-down,
check the safety valve for correct operation.
2. Repairs of the water system should be carried out only by professionals holding
relevant licences.

4. Warranty Conditions

1. The warranty for the tank is 36 months.
2. The warranty period starts on the date of sale of the product to the user, as
entered in the warranty card and confirmed by a proof of purchase (bill) issued by
the vendor.
3. The warrantor ensures the right operation of the tank, provided that it is installed
and used in accordance with this manual, i.e., above all, on the condition of not
exceeding the allowable pressure and the use of treated boiler water.
4. During the warranty period, the user is entitled to free repair of any damage
occurring through the fault of the tank manufacturer.
5. The warranty excludes defects caused by misuse, repairs or alterations made by
unauthorised persons, and installation and operation of the equipment contrary to
this manual.
6. In the event of irregular operation of the tank, notify the point of sale. DO NOT
REMOVE THE EQUIPMENT.
7. The manner of repair of the equipment is determined by the manufacturer.
8. In all matters not regulated by these conditions, relevant regulations of the Civil
Code apply.
9. We recommend to keep the Warranty Card throughout the life of the tank.

NOTE!
1. The safety valve has to be installed on the cold water inlet to the tank.
Together with the tank, we supply a AFRISO valve, type MS 3.0 MPa.
Install it so that the arrowhead on the valve housing is in line with the
water flow direction.
2. Never install any cut-off valves between the safety valve and the tank.
3. It is not permitted to use the tank without the safety valve or with a
malfunctioning safety valve because it can result in a failure and poses a
threat to human life and health.
4. In case of safety valves that feature, among others, the function enabling
to reduce the water pressure in the tank through water flow to the feeding
system, the water supply system in the distance of at least 5 m from the
valve should be resistant to temperature of + 90 C.
