Executive Summary




History

Tourism is one of the initiators of people's movement, a facilitator for exchange of knowledge, a provider
of pleasure, a way to enjoy leisure, and a means to enrich culture. The World Tourism Organization
defines tourists as people who "travel to and stay in places outside their usual environment for more than
twenty-four hours and not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not
related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited.
We live in a world of constant change; a world that continually moves and progresses to higher levels of
comfort and well-being. The travel and tourism industry is one of the fastest growing and largest single
businesses in world commerce and its importance is widely recognized. Many countries in the world
depend upon tourism as a main source of foreign exchange earnings. The expansion of tourism business
and the increased competition among destination countries throughout the world have necessitated
developing appropriate promotional approaches by the tourism firms worldwide. The contribution of
tourism industry in the global as well as individual perspective is really amazing.
It has shown a tremendous growth during the past four decades. It has become a very important and
dynamic sector both in the world economy and particular in the developing countries. The continued
growth in tourism business throughout the world is encouraging and nations are becoming more concern
to attract more tourists to their own destinations and trying to promote this sector as a major source for the
economic development of the nation. Bangladesh is of no exception from this. The country is trying from
the inception of this industry to attracting more tourists to its destinations and to earn more foreign
currency from this sector.


Introduction

"To manage a business well is to manage its future; and to manage the future is to manage information.
EXPEDIO is here to offer to the foreign tourists to satisfy their unquenchable needs by the artistic with
bounty of tourism resources like natural beauty, sea beaches, forests, lakes, hills, wild lives,
archaeological attractions, monuments, handicrafts, sanctuaries, religious festivals, folklore, cultural
heritage, way of life, tribal culture etc.
Our primary focus is to improve and overcome some of the limitations regarding the facilities of
accommodation, transportation and other benefits required to attract foreign tourists swelling in numbers.
We make sure to provide the types of services that our clients will look for in a tour agency. It is
important for us to think of the possible things that our clients will need or will more likely look for when
they are looking for travel tour companies.
Our clients may be looking for affordable tour packages and there are times when they might as well
prefer to have a personalized special tour. We consider these things when planning the types of services to
offer in our travel tour company. We have variety of offers including affordable packages for the people
who avail of our group tour as well as packages that can be customized by our clients who may have
preferences when going on a guided tour. To improvise on our sells target, we try to introduce incentives
and referrals to our current and prospect clients. We give corporate discounts to target behemoth
companies. Sometimes we give special offers for our regular customers which no one gives in this
particular competitive market. Our tour agency also attracts more people by giving group discounts and
student discounts.
We only hire competent staffs who can efficiently manage our corporate tours company. We look for
reliable and friendly tour agents, tour operator and tour guides who will be responsible for the tour
services that we offer such as romantic tours, family tour, senior tours and sightseeing services.
In the face of stiff competition among the destination countries, effective promotional measures are
essential for the development of the industry. We find scopes and opportunities and highlight them as a
tourist destination to the potential tourists properly through an effective promotional measure and take
some initiatives to develop some infrastructural facilities to examine the special features of tourism firms'
promotional activities. We understand that marketing is not just promoting a product, but it is also the
creation of a product that meets consumer needs.
