4.1 Tabular Freeboard
This ship is considered as type B ship, the tabular freeboard is determined from table B:
L = 183.557 m F
0
= 2980 mm

4.2 Correction for Length
As L > 100 m F1 = 0

4.3 Correction for Block Coefficient
Cb = 0.747>0.68
F
2
=[ (Cb+0.68)/1.36-1]F
1
=147

4.4 Correction for Depth
D1=15.515 > L/15 = 12.237 m
As L = 183.557 > 120 R = 250
F
3
= (D1 L/15) R = 819 mm

4.5 Deduction for Superstructures and Trunks
Length of effective superstructures is 53.957 m, equal to 0.2940L
F0 = -1070 mm k = 14.7%
F4 = F0 k = 157 mm
Where: Effective length of superstructure calculation:
Fcle length
Lf= 37.957 m
Poop Length
La= 16.000 m
S= Lf+La = 53.957 m

4.6 Correction for variations from standard sheer profile

Sfo = /8 1187.0

4.6.3 Effect of height of forecastle & poop.
Actual height of forecastle in F.P. Hf = 3000 mm
Actual height of poop in A.P. Ha= 3000 mm
Standard height of superstructure Ho =2300 mm
As Hf > Ho Yf = Hf Ho = 700 mm
As Ha > Ho Ya = Ha Ho = 700 mm
So sheer credit h = (Y L)/3L
Where : L a= 16.000 m, L f= 37.957 m, L = 183.557 m
ha= (Ya La)/3L= 20.34 mm

4.6.3Correction for variations from standard sheer profile
F

= [0.5 (W + U)-h] (0.75 0.5 S/L) = 490 mm
Where: S = 53.957 m, L = 183.557 m
U = Sfo Sf = 1170.04 mm
W = Sao Sa = 593.50mm
h= ha+ hf = 68.59 mm

4.7 Calculation of summer freeboard
F = F0 + F1 + F2 + F3 +F4 +F5
= 2980+0+147+819-157+490 = 4279 mm
Designed summer freeboard F = 15515- 11200= 4315 mm
to be more than rule calculation F = 4279 mm

5. ASSIGN FREEBOARD

5.1 Summer Freeboard F = 4315 mm
5.2 Tropical Freeboard Ft = F - T / 48 = 4315-11200/48= 4082 mm
5.3 Winter Freeboard Fw = F + T / 48 = 4548 mm
5.4 Summer Fresh Water Freeboard
Ff = F 10 / (40 Tc) = 4091 mm
Where: = 42234.918 t, Tc = 47.062 t/cm
5.5 Tropical Fresh Water Freeboard
Ftf = Ft 10 / (40 Tc) = 3858 mm

6. CALCULATION OF MINIMUM BOW HEIGHT

The bow height defined as the vertical distance at the forward perpendicular between the waterline
corresponding to the assigned summer freeboard and the designed trim and the top of the exposed
deck at side shall be not less than :

As L < 250 m H = 56L(1-L/500) [1.36/(Cb + 0.68)] = 6200 mm

Actual bow height H = 7330 mm > 6200 mm to be complied with the requirement of rule.
The effective forecastle length is greater than 0.07L.So the bow height is complied with the
requirement of rule.
