Micromine provides these value-added services to help you maximize the
benefit from your software investment:
Training: Micromine offers a variety of training courses designed to teach
your staff everything from the basics through to advanced geostatistical and
mine design techniques. Regular scheduled training is offered at our
dedicated training facility, or alternatively a trainer will come to you for
on-site training.
Software configuration: Our consulting staff can configure your software
to suit your individual requirements. Our team of geologists, GIS
professionals and database analysts can assist with everything from the
initial software installation, through to importing and validating your data,
creation of customized legends, plot templates, and macros, and beyond.
Your staff will be empowered to immediately start producing accurate and
meaningful results.
On-going consulting: For those times when you have insufficient staff or
expertise for a particular project, you can rely on Micromine Consulting
staff to provide the necessary backup. Our mining professionals have many
decades of combined experience and can assist with tasks ranging from
exploration data management, digitizing, data validation, plotting and
section generation through to bankable feasibility studies.

PLOTTING
The Plotting module extends the Quick Plot functionality provided
by the Core module. The Plotting Module is a very powerful tool
that allows you to generate hard copy plots and customize the
appearance of plots created in any MICROMINE graphical display.
Multiple plot frames can be stacked onto a single sheet to produce
complex multi-layered or multi-windowed presentation-quality
output. Picture files, tabular data, and numerous symbols can also be
incorporated. The Plotting Module includes comprehensive facilities
for previewing the output on screen, adding or editing labels, and for
printing to a variety of output file formats and devices.

CORE
The Core module is fundamental to the MICROMINE application and
is used to process, validate and view data. Vizex (Visual Explorer)
provides an immediate and intuitive way to view and collate all
MICROMINE-supported data. Vizex also has the ability to view GIS
and remote sensing file formats, including Arcview, MapInfo, and ER
Mapper. Some of the features included in the Core module are:
Data entry, processing, and validation
Data visualization (Vizex)
Data presentation and output
3D Viewer, including creation of flythrough animations
Assign outlines
Quick plotting utility (Quick Plot)
Coordinate transformations
(geographic, datum, and plane grid)
Distribution statistics
Drillhole display functions
String editing and utilities, including digitizer support
EXPLORATION
The exploration module provides advanced features for interpreting and
reporting exploration data. Tools provided within this module include
generating contour grids and DTM's; performing drillhole calculations
and compositing; and carrying out statistical analysis and polygonal
modeling. Advanced string functions can be used to extract and display
cross-sectional outlines and mine openings. Features include:
Display graphs and stacked sections
Advanced drillhole displays
Advanced statistics functionality, including semi-variograms,
variogram surfaces, assay quality control, and single or multiple
linear regression
Extract cross-sections from strings
Display cross-section areas
Drillhole compositing and calculations
Digital terrain modeling and contouring; numerous contouring
algorithms are available
WIREFRAMING
The Wireframing Module is used to produce and analyze three-
dimensional solids. Volume and tonnage reports can be easily
generated, 3D coordinate points falling within a wireframe solid can
be flagged, and simple polygonal estimates can be performed on
contained drillhole assay intervals. Strings representing underground
workings can be extruded to form wireframe solids. Features include:
Polygonal Wireframe Estimate
Wireframe Boolean
Solid-to-solid interaction
Wireframe building and editing
Wireframe extrusion from strings
RESOURCE ESTIMATION
Two- and three-dimensional block models can be produced using
grade interpolation algorithms ranging from Inverse Distance
Weighted through to Multiple Indicator Kriging. In addition, simple
polygonal estimates are also supported. Features include:
2D and 3D block modeling
Polygonal modeling
Gridded seam modeling
Comprehensive model reporting options
MINING
The Mining Module provides open pit and underground miners with
a suite of tools for design, grade control, and other production
oriented tasks. Open pit blast patterns can be interactively designed,
with control over each individual blasthole if required. Similarly,
underground miners can rapidly design and report on rings of
underground blastholes. The interactive grade control functions allow
the user to integrate different data types and interactively evaluate
volumes, tonnages and grades within any combination of blasts or
ore blocks. The Mining Module also provides an interface into
common pit optimization software applications. Features include:
Open pit and underground design
Mine design
Grade control
Ring design
SURVEYING
With the Surveying Module, users can import and process survey
data. Data can be acquired using all standard data collection
methods, and to facilitate this, MICROMINE can be configured to
interface with any data recorder or electronic total station. Features
include:
Digital terrain modeling
Data reduction (e.g. stadia, angles and SAS)
Co-ordinate set-out
Cross-section and top/bottom volumes
Road Design
DATA MANAGEMENT (GBIS)
The MICROMINE Data Management module is designed specifically
for, but is not limited to, the display and management of exploration
and mining data. Data can be imported and processed from most
commonly adopted file formats, and these processes can be easily
automated.
Features include:
Supports Oracle, SQL or Microsoft Access databases
Browse and import data from various sources, including CSV, SIF
and other fixed format text files
Export data to a variety of text formats, including CSV, and other
fixed formats
Build customized user profiles for individual users
Build customized queries and reports for each user profile
Build customized data validation procedures
Produce information rich 2D graphic log displays
