Title: The Mediating Effect of Organizational commitment on the Relationship
Between Work life Balance Polices and Intention to Leave: A study of Working
Woman in Private Hospitals Sector in Jordan

Statement of the Problem
The overwhelming majority of women working in Jordan (95%) are concentrated in
only three economic sectors; one of these sectors is Health sector. The conflict
between work and family is considered as an important issue for organizations and
individuals due to its association with negative results. For example, the conflict
between work role and family life role is associated with increased absenteeism and
increased turnover of the labor force, low performance in the work place, and poor
physical and mental health. Replacing one hospital nurse has been estimated to be
around $42,000 . Current studies in the Health Industry has paying attention on how
to address the high cost of turnover and staff shortage, as well as the contributors to
these problems. On other hand, lack of studies related to work life balance in the Arab
World especially those on women workforce. Actually, there are international studies
on work life balance but there is a clear scarcity on those related to women. So this
study is the first to describe the work life balance issue at the level of the Arab world
in the Jordan that interested in the challenge that Jordanian woman face it in balancing
their work and family life . Based on the above, the problem focused on how to
examine work-life balance policies and its impact on to leave through organizational
commitment in among female worker in Hospitals Jordanian sector.

The study seeks to answer questions that were formulated as follows:
Does the work life balance policies influence organizational commitment
among worker woman in king Abdullah hospital ?
Does organizational commitment affect intention to leave for employee among
worker woman in king Abdullah hospital ?
How does organizational commitment effect as a variable Mediator on the
relationship between work life balance policies and intention to leave among worker
woman in king Abdullah hospital ?
Does the work life balance policies influence intention to leave among worker
woman in king Abdullah hospital?

Hypotheses of the Study
the study hypotheses were formulated as follows:
There is negative relationship between work life balance policies and
intention to leave among female employees in KAUH.
There is positive relationship between work life balance policies and
organizational commitment among female employees in KAUH.
There is negative relationship between organizational commitment and
intention to leave of female employees in KAUH.
Organizational commitment will mediate relationship between work life
balance policies and intention to leave among female employees in KAUH

Research Methodology
This study is of exploratory descriptive nurture where is seek investigate the
relationship between the independent variable (WLB) and intention to leave as the
dependent variable as mediating variable by organizational commitment .
The population of the study cover the female employees in private hospitals
sector in Jordan .
The sample frame comprised from female employees in king Abdullah
university hospital including all degree levels, single and married with at least one
year of experience employed with KAUH.
